This month's new arrivals

In today’s post, we’ll be taking a look at the best new releases from the brands, focusing on three main categories: football jerseys, boots and gloves.

20 October 2020 - Written by David del Río
As we mentioned earlier, in today’s blog post we’re going to discuss the best football boot packs, the best match jerseys and the best goalkeeper gloves released between September and October. We’ll therefore take a look back at this recent period in the football market to analyse which sector has produced the most notable products. We’ll start with football boots, the product most widely used by all players and, probably, the one that has generated the most debate.

FOOTBALL BOOTS

Over the past month, we have seen numerous new releases from the leading brands. New Balance unveiled two different collections: one in which its two main ranges, Furon and Tekela, were crafted entirely from leather, and another focused solely on a colourway change, opting for a striking combination of blue and orange.

The German brand adidas, for its part, has unveiled two very different packs. The most recent is the Glory Hunter Pack, launched to mark the return of the Champions League. Three main colours were used for this pack: off-white, blue and orange, combined in various ways across adidas’s three main silos: Predator, X and Copa. The Nemeziz were left out of this collection, as they had already been given a new colourway in the previous pack, the Inflight Pack, which we have already seen in numerous European competitions. In addition, adidas also launched Paul Pogba’s new Predators, an exclusive edition designed especially for the French footballer.

Nike wasn’t far behind either, surprising us with several new releases. Among them, the Crimson Pack stood out, featuring white boots with orange-toned details verging on purple. The Phantom GT did not feature in this pack, although it did take centre stage in the Tech Craft Pack. This collection opted for versions made from natural leather for several of the American brand’s models, all featuring a dark aesthetic and subtle details that highlighted the quality of the materials.

FOOTBALL JERSEYS

This season’s third kits have taken a step forward. Brands have decided to place greater emphasis on these designs, opting for bolder and more innovative styles that do not always win over all the fans.

Among the most notable is the Italian national team’s jersey, worn by Roberto Mancini’s players. It is a spectacular design inspired by one of the most important periods in the country’s history: the Renaissance.

Another particularly eye-catching jersey is Manchester United’s third kit, featuring a design of irregularly arranged black and white stripes, which we have already seen worn by Paul Pogba and his teammates.

To round off this section, the Nigeria national team jersey deserves a special mention; it is one of the most eagerly anticipated in every international competition thanks to its bold and original designs.

GOALKEEPER GLOVES

We now turn to the most important piece of kit for goalkeepers, who will be delighted with the wealth of new products that have hit the market in recent months.

We must give a special mention to SP’s Summit collection, which features new colourways across all its models and, above all, introduces a new generation of the Pantera model, which we’ve already told you about.

Puma has also unveiled some major innovations in the goalkeeper gloves segment. We’ve seen the launch of the new Puma Ultra, worn by goalkeepers such as Bernd Leno and Jordan Pickford, as well as an update to the Puma Future. This update incorporates minor improvements that make the model an even more complete glove, whilst retaining the features that have led top-tier goalkeepers, such as Jan Oblak, to rely on it.

And you, which launch stands out for you? Have boots, jerseys or gloves been the main highlights of recent months?
