New adidas Predator Dragon boots

The new adidas Predator Dragon has burst onto the scene at Fútbol Emotion. A bold collection that breaks the mould and is unlike anything we’ve seen before. An evolution inspired by mythology, designed for the pitch. Welcome to the Dragon, a true predator.

The new adidas Dragon football boots are, quite simply, the very embodiment of the Predator range. Taking it to the next level, adidas has decided to launch a new collection that feels almost like something from an archaeological museum, yet remains true to the brand’s evolutionary journey. What better way to represent a predator than with a dragon, as this is a fusion of parts from nine animals: the body and tail of a snake, the whiskers of a catfish, the mane of a lion, the scales of a fish, the talons of an eagle, the nose of a dog, the eyes of a lobster, the antlers of a deer and the snout of a camel.

adidas Predator Dragon: a Limited Edition

Clearly mimicking the skin and feel of a dragon, this new adidas Predator 20+ football boot uses the fantastic Fusion Skin leather, a material commonly found in the adidas Copa 20+ football boot. This results in a football boot that is much more adaptable and malleable to the foot, compared to the standard Primeknit used in the Mutator Pack.

In turn, to ensure all the pieces fit together in this wild collection, adidas once again introduces the DemonSkin concept: those rubber studs protruding from the upper, offering power and control. 406 rubber studs cover the main areas that come into contact with the ball, with different sizes and thicknesses depending on their location, with the inner instep, toe and front outer side being the areas chosen for these studs.

Furthermore, this time there is a scientific study demonstrating the effectiveness of these striking elements, which increase the spin effect by 10%. This new technology is the brand’s major focus, alongside the addition of different finishes to create a leather that changes colour. The collar has also been redesigned to feature a dragon-scale Primeknit pattern, exclusive to this boot.

Once again, we see adidas introducing a two-piece modular outsole, separating the forefoot from the heel and thereby lightening the new CONTROLFRAME plate. The studs have changed shape, now being more rounded compared to the previous generation, similar to those found in the adidas Nemeziz football boot range and following the trend towards shorter, rounder studs that are better suited to modern football pitches.

We’ll finish with something that left us completely baffled when we saw it. This new collection comes with one of the most surreal boxes ever seen. Designed to resemble a dragon’s egg, it features a triangular pattern. Inside, two elastic bands hold the boots in place on either side, a nod to the original elastic used on the tongues of historic Predator boots. A beast like no other, and due to the limited nature of the release, it won’t be on the Fútbol Emotion website for long. Just like the Dragon, this will be nothing more than a myth if you’re not quick to snap them up.
