Few footballers have earned the right to wear their own bespoke football boots – exclusive designs reserved for the sport’s biggest stars – and French striker Kylian Mbappé is, of course, one of them.

This has not been an easy summer for the Parisian striker. His failed move to Real Madrid has caused a stir rarely seen before in the world of football, and Nike, aware of the media impact Kylian has today, has decided to unveil the new exclusive football boots that Mbappé will be wearing over the coming months.

There have been many rumours in the past that the footballer was set to switch sports sponsors, a catastrophic scenario for the Swoosh brand as it would mean losing one of its biggest assets. But nothing could be further from the truth; the relationship between Mbappé and Nike appears to be unbreakable, and the Americans are proving this by giving the player the recognition he deserves with these new football boots, exclusive to Kylian Mbappé.

Of course, we’re talking about a pair of Nike Mercurial Superfly football boots – Nike’s speed range, which the French star switched to following the discontinuation of the Hypervenom – and in which we’ve seen him wreak havoc in stadiums all over the world.

As for the technical specifications, these boots haven’t undergone any changes; they’re the same Nike Mercurial Superfly football boots as in the standard releases, but with a design that we do have a few things to tell you about. One of the French footballer’s greatest strengths is his ability to set matches alight with the ball at his feet, and Nike has sought to represent this by including orange flames running from the toe to the heel of the boot. But as if that weren’t eye-catching enough, lilac is the colour used to cover the rest of the boot, resulting in a combination that is sure to turn heads.

Turning to the details, black is the colour chosen by Nike to colour the edge of the Swoosh and the heel trim – a colour that lends a touch of understated elegance to this bold design of Kylian Mbappé’s new exclusive football boots. Also in black is the striker’s logo featuring his initials ‘KM’ on the heel, replacing the classic ‘Mercurial’ found on these football boots in standard releases.

There’s not much more we can tell you about these new Nike football boots – bold, eye-catching colours with which the PSG player will be looking to set the Ligue 1 pitches alight, perhaps for the last time this season. As you’d expect, these Nike Mercurial Superfly football boots are now available in-store and on the Fútbol Emotion website
