Nike Phantom Venom Total 90 Remix - Future DNA Pack
The new Nike Phantom Venom Total 90 remastered football boots are now in stock at Fútbol Emotion. If you fell in love with the releases from a few weeks ago, these Nike football boots will have you absolutely hooked. It’s a time to remember, to look back and return to an era when brands were completely obsessed with the true power of their football boots. Today we’re talking about the second boot in Nike’s ‘Future DNA Pack’. These football boots were originally launched in 2002. Those Nike Air Zoom Total 90 II boots were the perfect combination of comfort, power and precision. Made from the soft and famous KN-100 – a strong yet lightweight material – the boot’s namesake emerged from a philosophy designed to support the player’s comfort throughout the full 90 minutes of a match.
This technology didn’t come alone, as it was accompanied by one of the Swoosh brand’s most famous and historic technologies: Air Zoom. This was the second generation of boots to feature this technology, bringing true cushioning to football boots. What we now know as Boost versus React, but with a twist: even today, this cushioning is still going strong, particularly in Nike Running’s shoes collections.
Let’s not kid ourselves – this wasn’t the real revolution; rather, it was their aggressive silhouette, not to mention the asymmetrical laces offset to one side. Having the laces on one side! You can’t imagine how we felt as a kid when the older lads at our club wore these top-of-the-range FG football boots – we’d look at them and we'd simply be blown away. This lacing system, across all their ranges, meant we had a larger surface area of the boot in contact with the football (helping to create a cleaner strike).
This Total 90 was on our list of boot reissues, but we don’t think it’s turned out badly – in fact, they’ve turned out spectacularly. However, they’ve adapted the design from the Phantom VNM, and we firmly believe it would have been a thousand times better to bring back the original model. To feel what Roberto Carlos felt, wearing the Real Madrid jersey, where ‘Galácticos’ like him were rock stars wearing this sort of boot.
This new Nike Phantom Venom ‘Future DNA Mercurial’ football boot is the third release in Nike Football’s Future Football Pack, in which today’s performance boots pay homage to a historic design from Nike Football’s history, whilst incorporating modern updates into a classic boot – just as was the case with the Nike Phantom Vision Remastered Remix, launched on the 6th of March, and the Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly Remastered, launched on the 13th of March.
Technical features: Nike Phantom VNM Total 90
This remake won’t be seen on the world’s top pitches, but we mustn’t fail to point out that these are the football boots worn by Harry Kane and Lewandowski, amongst others, designed to enhance the player’s strike thanks to Precision PWR technology on the instep, which also makes the most of the surface area by directing the lacing outwards.
The upper is made from Flyknit material across virtually its entire surface, with the textured finish on the toe box providing extra grip when in contact with the ball, as well as ACC technology, highlighted in red as a tribute to the OG model. The outsole features a pattern of laminated studs that provide much more aggressive traction during quick, short bursts of movement.
