New Puma Future Inhale

Puma football boots are characterised by many things; amongst them, the boldness to create football boots that are in a league of their own, both technologically and aesthetically. This brings with it significant risks, such as the fact that the most traditional players on the pitch may completely rule out wearing Puma football boots, whilst even the most daring may, at times, have second thoughts about the extravagance that the German brand occasionally features in its collections. Today, this new Puma Future Inhale joins the entire Puma Future range throughout its recent history.

Before we get to grips with all the technologies featured in this new Puma boot, let’s take a brief look back at what Inhale is and where the idea for this bold boot came from. On their maiden voyage in 2000, the Puma Inhale running shoes established themselves at the pinnacle of running technology, combining a thick sole with exaggerated contours and curves that maximised performance. This Puma classic enjoyed a second lease of life in 2019, when we saw an OG model for streetwear, and now, in 2020, it’s set to explore new horizons and win a football match.

Although aesthetically they look very different from those we see, for example, in the new Sparck Pack, and give the impression of being a completely different boot, the new Puma Future Inhale feature a revamp in several key areas, whilst their core philosophy remains unchanged. A boot that adapts effortlessly to any foot shape – we have no hesitation in saying that, aesthetically, it’s one of the boldest designs of 2020.

The upper shows a dramatic change compared to the current-generation Puma Future 5.1 football boot. We can see that there is no longer as much mesh in the NETFIT system, and there are no visible eyelets for the laces; instead, they are secured at key points. Furthermore, it features a far more adaptable NETFIT support system, with a fully knitted upper for a better fit and greater stability. This makes it a boot with more classic features. Let’s continue discussing this upper, as it features evoKnit reinforcement in the areas most prone to ball impact, which serves a dual purpose: firstly, to provide additional grip, enhancing traction and touch; and secondly, to ensure effective water drainage in adverse weather conditions.

As you know, if something works, there’s no need to make major changes, so Puma has once again opted for its flagship sole. One of the key features of the Puma Future football boot is its lightness; to achieve this, they’ve fitted a reactive Pebax plate, featuring RapidAgility technology, with stabilising bars across the instep and a combination of laminated and conical studs to ensure traction in all conditions, supporting explosive, multi-directional movement.

One thing we at Fútbol Emotion must point out is that, on this occasion, there will be NO on-pitch promotion, so we won’t see them on the best football pitches, nor will they be Griezmann’s football boots, nor Luis Suárez’s. Despite this, Puma knows how to handle these launches better than anyone else, as the originality of its products and campaigns means they become true gems in the annals of football history.
