New Puma Future Z football boot

Brands are off to a flying start this year. Although 2021 may seem or feel a bit strange for our sport, the brands are determined to come out on top in this race that lasts 365 days. It’s time to forge ahead, put all our worries behind us and look to the future. Generation Z has arrived on the playing field. Welcome to the new Puma Future Z.

The new Puma football boots are looking absolutely stunning and, as you’d expect, are joining the fray alongside the major brands we’ve seen making their grand entrance. Although this Puma Future Z had previously been released as a ‘teaser boot’, this time we can all enjoy this new marvel from Puma. I’ve mentioned this on many occasions, but Puma’s position in the current market—despite clearly occupying an enviable third place—in terms of its work and dedication, holds a special place in the hearts of those of us in the industry. As we all know, its signings, innovation, tradition, marketing… ultimately, a perfect harmony in every respect.

Let’s remember that the philosophy behind this range—setting aside considerations of striking power, speed or agility—is to anticipate what is yet to come. Let this be the boot. Let it be the cornerstone of what we will see in the near future. The Puma Future football boots were born as a new boot concept, fully customisable and adapting seamlessly to any foot shape; without a shadow of a doubt, one of the best boots of the last generation. Will the German brand continue with this trend?

Puma Future Z – Game On Pack

It was pretty clear that the next generation of the Future was on its way, with the blackout prototype and the “Teaser” edition. However, what was completely unexpected was the launch of the Game On Pack. Puma has sprung into action with what has been dubbed the Future Z, accompanying the Puma Ultra football boot. This suggests that this launch is a “declaration of war”, with the intention of taking the game by storm. It has been confirmed, as was to be expected, that this launch features Neymar’s football boots. The Paris Saint-Germain striker is set to be the face of the revamped range, marking a complete change of direction following a brief stint with the Puma King.

Technical features: Puma Future Z

A real statement of intent, designed to give the competition a run for their money. The Puma Future football boots are exactly what their name suggests: the future. Starting with the upper, there’s a dramatic change compared to the Puma Future 6.1 from the previous generation. We can see that NETFIT is no longer present, and we immediately notice the entire upper section, which instantly stands out in the design. It is undoubtedly the band that wraps around the midfoot. In fact, the new Future Z has been built around this compression band, called Adaptive FuzionFit+, which provides optimal lockdown and support for movement, as well as increased agility to further support multi-directional movements. As you’d expect, it features built-in GripControl Pro for a refined touch and perfect ball control.

Moving on to the outsole, this time we’re setting aside the RapidAgility technology in the midfoot to focus on the new design. To further support multi-directional movements, the Future Z features an innovative ‘Z’-shaped outsole known as the Dynamic Motion System, strategically positioned to deliver the best possible traction in every aspect of the game. It’s no secret that the Future Z is designed without compromise, so that every challenge on the football pitch can be overcome. It’s designed to suit all tastes and is intended to aid dribbling, creativity and daring. The ‘Z’ represents and celebrates the zig-zag movement of dribbling and multi-directional play.

Perhaps what best characterised the Puma Future was the character it brought to the lacing system, as well as the design of the boot’s interior. However, it has now been completely redesigned to focus on enhancing the performance of the most dynamic playmakers. This boot is surely the perfect answer to the latest innovations. Furthermore, players who want to keep the ball at their feet and need an agile, responsive boot to support their creative style of play will find it here.
