The adidas Tormentor Pack

The adidas Predator football boots are a range with incredible appeal that will win over any player and anyone else; whether you’re young, experienced, an expert in the football boot market or simply another fan, their colours and designs evoke memories of times gone by; as in this case, the legendary 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan and the iconic adidas Predator Mania Japan Blue.

This colourway is the legendary ‘Japan Blue’, which, in the form of the Predator Mania, was worn by a select group of Japanese players at the 2002 World Cup. Today, this colour is one of the most sought-after on the OG Mania market, and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in the entire history of vintage adidas Predators. This colourway was sold exclusively in Asia, which is why today’s release has such a special feel to it. The ‘only’ drawback is that, with this Tormentor Pack, we won’t see the blue/red/white colour scheme featured on the adidas X football boots, nor even on Messi’s adidas Nemeziz boots, nor even on the adidas Copa range, as Predator will be the only range to boast this design.

We usually get excited when we talk about remakes, but this colourway is one of the ones we’ve been most looking forward to from adidas. It’s bound to be one of the ones on the now-familiar list of football boot remakes; we’ll have to wait and see…

The new adidas Predator 20+ football boot is now available, as featured in this Mutator Pack, which you can purchase via the Fútbol Emotion website. In any case, 406 spikes cover the most frequently used striking areas on this new boot, just as Craig Johnston did on his 1992 prototype – the cornerstone of what we see today.

The story of this boot has always been the talk of the town, and something that has always gone hand in hand with it is the split sole; this time, after years of waiting and under the name ‘Control Frame’, it makes its debut in 2020. The upper is known as Demon Skin, featuring a Primeknit construction with laceless technology to provide grip during boot-to-ball contact. The master of control on the pitch, utterly demonic, capable of anything, capable of making you feel like the true master of the football pitch.

‘Japan Blue’ is designed to appeal to everyone, which is why the German brand has decided to introduce it to the world of goalkeeper gloves. These adidas goalkeeper gloves feature a much softer and more flexible Primeknit, with varying densities depending on the area of the hand. Naturally, the finger area is not the same as the wrist area, where we need much greater freedom of movement. According to the German brand, this new yarn is a Primeknit that has been specifically designed, manufactured and moulded for gloves.

Moving on to the clearance zone, where we find the striking “Demon Skin” and its famous rubber spikes encircling the glove; with 406 rubber spikes covering the main areas that come into contact with the ball. Finally, the new URG 2.0 palm offers much greater durability and resistance on abrasive surfaces. Mind you, this doesn’t mean that this palm is designed solely for surfaces such as artificial turf or sand – quite the opposite, in fact; this palm performs at its best on natural grass. What adidas has done is to cater to the majority of users whilst offering a little extra to goalkeepers who play on synthetic surfaces. A 4 mm palm and a protective zone are the key features you need to know. If your game is based on playing on natural grass, adidas will be including the URG 1.0 palm in this collection, which is primarily intended for PRO goalkeepers.
