I supose that most of you know something about the adidas Primekint football boots history. For those of you who don't know about it, here is a short review:
1. adidas Primeknit 1st generation.
In February 2014, we had some news that Nike was about to launch a woven football boot, but it was adidas the first to launch a complete woven boot. The concept was pretty cool, they were built with Primekint fabric that was already a huge success in London Olympic Games 2012.
Although it was a great idea it wasn't well implemented. It didn't feel like it was made for football. The material was very rough and it didn't provide a nice touch with the ball. It was comfortable but not 100% for football.

The only player to use the first woven boots was Luis Suarez in one Premier League game. It was a good first try but there was a lot of work to do to transform it in a boot for professional football players.
2. adidas Primeknit 2nd generation.
More than a year later in April 2015, adidas launch the next generation of the Primeknit boots. The 2.0 model came with a complete reddesign. The only thing in common was that it as still made with Primknit fabric but this time you could tell that adidas had improved the touch with the ball in the areas that needed the most and with a better grip.
The shape of the new model looked similar to the successful adidas running shoe:Ultraboost. The fit in the heel, the Primekint upper and the construction were definitely inspired in that adidas running shoe.
This time there were more pro's with the boot: James, Benzema, or Luis Suares were some of the professional player to use it in La Liga. Especially in the case of the French player, he liked the boot and adidas decided to keep developing this line.
3. adidas Primeknit 3rd generation.
And this is how we get to the current stuation. But this time adidas has decided to launch two Primeknit models, one for the X15 and the other for the ACE15 but with a gel layer in the exterior to provide a nice touch with the ball, make it water resistant and all of it maintaining the elasticity of this fabric.
And the biggest surprise is that this time the players have liked it a lot, they accepted the new concepts that combine a classic boot with the Primeknit woven material.
Currently we will only see player who play Champions league playing with Primeknit models. Very positive reaction. You can see De Gea, Suarez, Özil or Neuer among other using these woven boots. Our big doubt is with the next adidas collection, will the rest of plaer also receive Primeknit models?
Meanwhile adidas decides what to do with the next generation, in Soloporteros you'll find available both models:
