Officially unveiled for the first time, this new collection – the result of a collaboration between Kylian Mbappé and Nike – tells the story of the French player’s rise and evolution from his neighbourhood of Bondy, a town on the outskirts of Paris, to the moment he joined Paris Saint-Germain and began to make a name for himself in the world of football: The Bondy Collection. The colours chosen for this collection reflect precisely that journey, with different shades of green symbolising the Bondy neighbourhood, which feature prominently on the upper of the boots. These are complemented by gold, which appears in iconic details such as the Swoosh, the letters of his name on the right boot and the stars on the left boot, symbolising the 2018 World Cup victory.
As Mbappé himself says: “Bondy will always be in my heart; it’s the place where I fell in love with football. My neighbourhood has shaped me as a person and as a player. I owe a great deal to Bondy, and it means a lot to me that Bondy is the focus of this collection.” Kylian Mbappé also concludes with a statement that will ring true for many young people like him: “Back then, I had my idols, and many of them already had their own special-edition Nike boots. So, the fact that I now have my own exclusive Nike boot is like a dream come true.”
This exclusive Nike collection, available only in European countries, includes the following products: Nike Mercurial Superfly boots; Kylian Mbappé Bondy T-shirt; Nike Dry SS Bondy T-shirt; Nike Bondy bum bag; and a Nike Airlock Street X football. The collection also includes other products, such as Nike Air Max shoes. All the products mentioned above are now available at Fútbol Emotion, as are the boots, which will be available from today in our online shop, although in very limited quantities as this is a limited-edition collection.
Nike Mercurial Superfly 7 Elite – Bondy Dreams
This high-end boot features a design that combines a grey base with details in various shades of green and gold. Aesthetically speaking, this is an unusual design for Nike, with futuristic-inspired shapes and graphics that clearly reflect the personality and imagination of the young French footballer. Although green is the predominant colour and represents the different stages of Mbappé’s journey to the top, from his neighbourhood of Bondy, north of Paris, gold also plays a leading role, appearing on some of the boot’s most iconic details, such as the Nike Swoosh and Mbappé’s logo on the right boot, formed by two stars. These two stars represent the two World Cups won by France.
Technical features: Nike Mercurial Superfly Elite
This limited-edition version does not feature any technological innovations, as it retains the same specifications as previous versions of the Superfly 7. Even so, it is always worth remembering what sort of product we are dealing with. The upper features a 360° construction made entirely from micro-textured Flyknit and coated with a layer of Nikeskin. This is complemented by ACC (All Conditions Control) technology, which improves grip and ball control even in wet conditions.
It is in the outsole that Nike has made the most changes to this Superfly Elite VII. The previous model surprised everyone with a two-piece modular outsole that stood out for its innovation, although it also attracted some criticism. The American brand has managed to evolve and adapt quickly to the demands of modern football, redesigning this new modular outsole and adjusting its dimensions in certain areas to facilitate changes of direction and increase the player’s stability on the pitch.
