Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus) - Nike Mercurial Dragonfly
In a week marking the launch of what is the most powerful weapon in the American brand’s arsenal, Cristiano Ronaldo couldn’t be left out of such a major launch. The Juventus player was even one of the first professional footballers to be spotted training in these new Nike Mercurial Dragonfly football boots, and also in an official match, specifically in the Turin side’s victory over Bologna in Serie A. In that match, the Portuguese star finished the game wearing the latest version of his Nike Mercurial MDS boots.
Antoine Griezmann (FC Barcelona) - Puma Ultra Game On Pack
The French player is one of the ambassadors for the German brand’s speed boot range, and with the latest launch of the Game On Pack by Puma Football, the French striker—who is effectively the face of this range—was one of the first to wear the boots both in training and, more recently, in the LaLiga match against Elche CF. A version that is identical to the launch model but features the best colourway of these boots to date. The new Puma Ultra football boots are, without a doubt, much more aggressive.
Paul Pogba (Manchester United) - adidas Predator 20+ Precision To Blur Pack
The French star at Manchester United features on this list because, in the match prior to this weekend, he had already been spotted wearing the new version of the adidas Predator Freak+ football boots. However, in yesterday’s match against Liverpool FC in the FA Cup, Pogba opted once again for the previous version of the Predator. Is there a problem with the new boot? Or is the Frenchman simply not convinced by how the new Demonskin has been applied to his boots? Despite the launch of this new adidas Superlative Pack, the truth is that many of the German brand’s players have yet to debut these new boots on the pitch.
Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund) - Puma Future Z (Laceless)
The days go by and it’s the same old story. The Borussia Dortmund captain and star continues to wear his Puma laceless football boots. Since joining the Future range, Marco Reus has only been seen wearing the laced version of the boots that the German brand sends him for personal use. In recent weeks, rumours have emerged that Puma is developing laceless boots, although this remains just a rumour. Meanwhile, the reality for Reus is that the Future range is moving from one generation to the next and he continues to wear these laceless models, something the brand itself strongly advises against.
