The new Nike Phantom Venom Tech Craft follow in the footsteps of the Nike Mercurial Tech Craft, which were launched in September. Football boot enthusiasts will no doubt remember the 2015 Tech Craft Pack. On that occasion, Nike incorporated natural leather into its four silos, completely covering the upper of each model and replacing the synthetic materials in that area.
Leather Nike Phantom Venom
The PRECISION PWR technology, located in the striking zone, is completely covered in natural leather. This design choice takes us back to the early 2000s, when brands placed particular emphasis on the striking and passing zones when designing and manufacturing their football boots. On the toe box, the natural leather is integrated with small embossed hexagons, which provide extra grip on contact with the ball.
Just as with the Mercurial, Phantom Vision and Tiempo models – although much more discreetly in the latter two – the new Phantom Venom features Flyknit on the upper. But this high-quality material doesn’t work alone: to maintain the boot’s shape, the internal structure incorporates DYNAMIC FLYWIRE CABLES, which are designed to support the foot and keep it stable throughout the match.
Finally, we come to the part that really makes these boots stand out: the outsole. Its 12 laminated studs, together with the two small central studs, work in unison to provide the traction and stability needed by a player moving around the finishing area. This outsole is called the HYPER REACTIVE PLATE 2.0 and adapts a concept from a high-speed sport such as athletics to football.
