Our interview with Manuel Locatelli

In today’s post, we’re going to summarise what Locatelli told us in an interview, in which we talked specifically about football boots, yes, but also about lots of other things…

Thanks to Nike, we had the chance to have a lovely chat with Manuel Locatelli, who plays for Sassuolo and the Italian national team, during which we talked about football boots, as well as his past and his future. We focused particularly on the new Phantom GTs, but let’s take a closer look at everything Manuel told us.

OUR INTERVIEW WITH MANUEL LOCATELLI

The first thing Manuel wanted to tell us was that returning to the pitch filled him with immense excitement. It was one of the happiest moments of his life, as he was finally able to play again and do what he loves most after such a long time. He also admitted to us that it isn’t the same playing without fans cheering him on and sending energy from the stands, but that, if that helps to prevent an even worse situation, then it’s only right that it should be that way.

We then moved on to talk about the new Nike Phantom GTs, a pair of boots that Manuel absolutely loves. In terms of technology, according to the Italian player, they are among the best boots he has ever tried, as they fit his foot perfectly. He also loves the colour scheme of this model: a fairly classic black and white base, but with a modern twist thanks to the fuchsia, which conveys a sense of movement. He also confessed to us that this is a boot that will always hold a special place in his heart, as it brings back very important memories, especially that of his debut with the Italian national team.

He also confirmed that he is part of the Fútbol Emotion family, as he considers himself a true ‘addict’ when it comes to football boots. He has been collecting them since he was a kid and has always had a great passion for them, just like us.

The conversation then turned to more personal matters, and we looked back with him on his still-short but already successful career, full of achievements and satisfaction. Let’s not forget that he moved from Milan, the club of his dreams, to Sassuolo, a team that welcomed him and allowed him to fulfil his full potential. As Manuel told us, he will always be grateful to this club for the opportunity it gave him.

Finally, we asked him who his idol had been when he was a child and, unsurprisingly, he replied that it was Andrea Pirlo, for his elegance and composure when directing play.

And that’s all for now. We wish Manuel a season full of success, both individually and as part of the team, and we hope he’ll inspire us this summer during the Euro.
