Of course, if we could choose just one pair of boots for a season, it would undoubtedly be the Puma King Platinum football boots. The German brand recently launched the special edition Puma King Platinum 911 Legacy. Quite simply, it’s the same boot but from a different collection. Puma King Platinum is its name, and with that name, nothing can go wrong. Without even trying them on, or even seeing or touching them, we know they’re synonymous with quality and comfort.
The return of the king – Puma King Platinum
The German brand Puma has given this launch the attention it deserves. The King is back, and he’s done so by adapting to today’s fast-paced game. At first glance, die-hard purists will say this has nothing to do with the original Puma King, let alone the Puma King Top-K. But friends, let’s be honest: football boots, just like tactics and all the variations of our sport, need to be adapted to the times from time to time. Of course, we can stick with the classic boot, the one we’ve always used, but we’ll miss out on all the benefits and technologies that the brands provide to enhance our game.
Football Boots KING Platinum FG/AG Black-Gold
Drawing on a rich footballing heritage and forward-thinking design, the new King Platinum boots are made for the modern playmaker. The exclusive K-leather in classic black or white is paired with the ever-stylish gold-coloured plate, creating a premium design that exudes pure elegance and sophistication, both on and off the pitch.

These Puma football boots reflect the needs of traditional footballers who want a boot made entirely from natural leather. The upper of this new Puma King Platinum is simple, with no complicated technical features. It features incredible K-Leather Premium. The positive aspect highlighted by Puma is that this leather does not stretch excessively with use; this means that, like any leather, it adapts quickly to your foot, stretching but without going too far.
One of the new features, as with any leather boot designed for modern football, is the inclusion of technologies that enhance comfort. The new King features a conventional lacing system with an upper very similar to that of the Puma One, made from evoKNIT, for a better fit. For a better sense of support, there is the new external heel counter, which will, of course, ensure unbeatable stability during more aggressive movements.
When it comes to the sole, versatility is the name of the game. A boot for everyone. As the FG/AG designation suggests, and as you all know, Puma gives us the option of using it on natural grass pitches, whether dry or wet, or on artificial turf pitches. We must make a point here, as the AG designation is generally used to indicate that the boots can be worn on any artificial turf pitch. As a word of advice, we don’t think this soleplate is the most suitable for first- and second-generation AG pitches, as the contact surface isn’t ideal for older pitches made of this material.
The blade is made from Pebax, featuring a combination of tapered and laminated pips, offering excellent acceleration as it is extremely lightweight, as well as good spin during spin shots.
To conclude, just as adidas has done with its Copa Mundial and Copa Sense ranges, we hope that Puma will decide to include this gem in the brand’s regular collections. A classic version, featuring the Puma King, and a modernised version with the King Platinum, to offer options for the more traditional players on the pitch.
