Many fans love the adidas brand because it is one of the few that offers, in virtually all its models, both laced and laceless versions of football boots. This means that every player can choose between two options: a boot with a completely open instep, allowing the ball to be struck without any obstruction, or a version that fits the foot perfectly thanks to the laces. And, of course, this dual option is also available in the Predator model. There’s the laceless version, worn, for example, by Juventus midfielder Pjanic or, on occasion, by Atlético Madrid striker Morata. And it is precisely this adidas football boot that we’re going to talk about today and analyse in depth.
Let’s start by looking at some of the technologies featured in this football boot. It features a synthetic Knit upper, which makes the boot quite lightweight and very flexible, particularly around the collar. In fact, when you slip your foot into the boot, this feature is a great help, as it is the most elastic part of the whole boot. It also features Demonskin technology, consisting of rubber ridges that provide greater grip when controlling and striking the ball. Finally, the outsole is divided into two plates, with 11 very well-designed studs that grip the pitch effectively and provide greater speed during changes of direction. We finish with a colour scheme that has gone down very well with fans: a white base accented with touches of fluorescent yellow and red, which make this boot look spectacular at first glance.
Let’s now talk about how this boot feels when you put it on. To be honest, we were a bit sceptical at first, as we've never been too keen on laceless football boots. For those with wide feet, getting your foot into this type of boot can be quite tricky. However, in this case it wasn’t too difficult thanks to the Knit material around the collar, which is very stretchy; it opens up considerably as you slip your foot in and then quickly moulds to its shape. The feel of the boot is excellent. Right from the start, you notice how comfortable and lightweight it is – two essential qualities for any footballer when it comes to football boots. Let’s now talk about Demonskin and whether it really works or if it’s simply a marketing ploy by the German brand. We can assure you that this technology works one hundred per cent. You really notice it when controlling the ball, as the rubber textures help to stop and control it. What’s more, they also have a positive effect when you want to put more spin on the ball whilst taking a shot or a curving pass.
All in all, these are excellent football boots for those looking to add speed and quality to their style of play. They are particularly recommended for players who like to be involved with the ball a lot and take control of the match.
