What boots do the new Serie A signings wear?

The summer transfer window is drawing to a close, but there are still a few days left for teams to finalise their squads; however, we’ve already seen some big-name stars arrive in Italy to bolster the domestic league… Will they settle in quickly? Will they do well? But, above all, what football boots do they wear? Let’s find out straight away!

As you’ll all know, the summer transfer window closes on the 5th of October at midnight. Until then, clubs will still be able to strengthen their squads. There are many names being linked with moves: N’Golo Kanté, Edinson Cavani and Marcos Alonso, amongst others. However, some signings have already been finalised, and it is precisely these that we’re going to discuss today, whilst also taking a look at which boots the new faces in the Italian league are wearing.

ÁLVARO MORATA

The first signing we’re looking at is Juventus’s new striker, Álvaro Morata. The former Atlético Madrid and Chelsea player is no stranger to Serie A, having previously played for Juventus during Antonio Conte’s spell in charge, when he established himself as a top-class footballer.

Juventus fans are delighted with his return to Turin, as are sports equipment enthusiasts, as Morata has always shown himself to be a true football boot aficionado. Throughout his career, we have seen him wear virtually all of adidas’s main ranges: Predator, X and Copa.

What’s more, whenever the German brand launches a special edition, the Spanish striker is usually among the first to try it out. We’ve seen him wearing such iconic models as the Predator Mania and the Dragon Predator, demonstrating his interest in everything to do with the world of football boots.

During his first training sessions with Juventus, he was spotted wearing the adidas Predator 20+, the model he’d worn for much of the season. These are laceless boots featuring Predator Element technology, comprising rubber elements on the upper that increase grip and improve ball control, even in wet conditions.

ARTURO VIDAL

Another major return to Serie A is that of Arturo Vidal. The Chilean midfielder had long been a target of Antonio Conte’s and has finally joined Inter Milan, where he is reunited with the manager who played a key role in shaping his career during his time at Juventus.

Vidal brings experience, intensity, leadership and an enormous work rate – qualities that fit perfectly with the Nerazzurri’s style of play.

As for his boots, until relatively recently he was usually seen wearing the Nike Mercurial. However, since his arrival in Milan he has started wearing the new Nike Phantom GT. This is a significant change, as he has switched from a boot clearly geared towards speed to a more versatile model, designed to offer control, precision and comfort – characteristics that suit the Chilean midfielder’s profile very well.

VICTOR OSIMHEN

Another standout among the new signings is Victor Osimhen, a Napoli striker who has joined from the French league. The young Nigerian forward made a very positive impression from his very first matches, demonstrating speed, power and the ability to turn matches on their head.

Looking at his playing style, it makes sense for him to opt for a speed boot. Osimhen needs lightness, explosiveness and a quick response with every burst of speed, which is why he has chosen the Nike Mercurial, one of the favourite models among the fastest strikers in world football.

Its Flyknit construction provides a very light and comfortable feel, allowing the player to make the most of his changes of pace and top speed.

These are some of the new stars of Serie A and the boots they’ve chosen to tackle this new chapter in Italian football. What do you think of these signings? Do you think Morata will succeed again at Juventus? Will Vidal be a key player for Inter? Can Osimhen become one of the league’s biggest stars?
