Achraf Hakimi
Over the last two matches, we’ve seen him wearing some truly unique boots: a special edition of the adidas boots, specifically the adidas X Ghosted. On the Moroccan player’s feet, we’ve noticed a colour combination that’s different from anything we’ve seen so far. These boots are inspired by superheroes, specifically the X-Men. It’s a highly unusual collaboration between a football boot brand and an entertainment company. The adidas X Ghosted boots worn by the Inter Milan full-back aren’t the only ones available, as there’s also a version for the adidas Predator range. Hakimi, therefore, has been wearing the adidas X Ghosted from the Marvel Pack.
Diego Demme
The Napoli midfielder is setting a new trend: wearing two different boots. For the past few days, we’ve seen him playing with two different boots on his feet, or at least with two different colourways for each foot. The boots in question are a pair of Nike Tiempo Legend VIIs, the model that preceded the one currently offered by Nike. Furthermore, during the last league match — the away fixture against Sampdoria, which ended 0-2 to the Neapolitans — many noticed that the left boot had been painted black to cover the branding. Why do you think he’s wearing two different-coloured boots?
Romelu Lukaku
The striker for the league leaders has surprised us by wearing a pair of adidas Copa 19+ boots – leather boots that were replaced just a few weeks ago by the new generation Copa Sense. In this case, Lukaku has opted for an all-white colourway, partly to make the brand unrecognisable. A boot change that surprises us (though not too much), because the Belgian striker has always been open to switching models and is also returning to leather boots, a feature that has been a constant throughout his career, as was the case with the Puma King Platinum, which he wore for a long time.
Gianluca Mancini
The final player we’re looking at is Roma’s centre-back, who wore the captain’s armband for the first time this weekend. As well as drawing attention for the armband, many noticed him because he took to the pitch wearing ‘blackout’ boots, specifically a pair of Nike Tiempo Legend 8s – a model he had used until now, but on which he probably had to conceal the American brand’s logo due to contractual issues with Nike. Furthermore, this theory is given further credence by the fact that he was spotted wearing a pair of adidas Predator Freak.1s during a training session.
