Today we’re talking about the football boots we consider to be the best ever. It’s very likely we’ll leave out plenty of models from the list, so do let us know which ones are your favourites in the comments section.
All the boots you’re about to see are models we’ve actually worn throughout our football careers. That’s why you won’t find any models that are too old, although some of them have made history in the world of football. Of course, we cherish them all dearly, because they’re part of who we are and our footballing history.
Let’s get straight to the list! Remember, this isn’t a ‘top 5’ list, as we often do, but rather a selection of boots where we’ll tell you which ones we consider to be the best.
We’ll start with a classic model that has undoubtedly made history in the world of football boots. Since its launch, it has never gone out of fashion and has always remained amongst the very best. In fact, they are the best-selling football boots of all time.
We’re talking about boots from the German brand adidas, specifically the adidas Copa Mundial.
Of all the models we’re going to show you, these are undoubtedly the most classic, but they’re also a safe bet. They offer exceptional comfort thanks to their extremely soft kangaroo leather upper, which moulds quickly to the foot after just a few hours of training.
The outsole has a very classic design and is perhaps slightly stiffer than that of other models, whilst its conical studs grip the pitch very well. If we had to point out the feature we like least, it would be the tongue: a very traditional element that extends widely over the upper and is quite different from what we find in modern boots.
The next pair of boots we’d like to tell you about are the Puma Future 5.1, one of Puma’s most innovative models.
They feature some truly innovative technologies, such as Netfit, a lacing system that allows each player to customise how their boots are laced. It’s a technology that, in our opinion, is both fascinating and ingenious. What’s more, they’re very well-balanced boots: lightweight, yet durable at the same time. To be honest, they really took us by surprise.
Thirdly, we’d like to tell you about a pair of Nikes: the first Nike Hypervenoms, a legendary pair of boots that we saw worn by great players such as Neymar and Lewandowski.
This model was a real game-changer, as it combined durability with lightness. It also stood out for its lacing system, positioned on one side, which gave it a very distinctive design.
Finally, let’s talk about a pair of adidas boots: the adidas Ace 16. This model made history as one of the first to do away with laces and feature a sock-like design.
They were made from a very soft and stretchy synthetic material, an innovation that helped drive the trend for laceless football boots.
