The Copa Sense SuperStealth

Following the announcement of the new generation of Copa boots, adidas has been keen to give players the chance to choose between two colourways straight away. Although they are similar in most respects, let’s take a look at what the differences are.

We already know the name of this new football boot. In fact, it was the only thing missing to complete the collection with which adidas has unveiled all its all-black models. The brand with the three stripes had already announced the X Ghosted and the Nemeziz; all that was left was the Copa to round off this wonderful collection. For fans of all-black football boots, these will undoubtedly be the boots of 2021, and we honestly believe this combination could be in the running for the boot of the year award.

COPA SENSE SUPERSTEALTH

As previously announced, the boot is almost entirely black; in fact, adidas has included a small red detail to make the boot stand out and look a bit more eye-catching. As you know, in this generation adidas has moved the three stripes to the heel, making them smaller than on previous models and giving them much less prominence, but in this new colourway they take on a key role because they are dyed red and, aesthetically, make the boot a real eye-catcher. Otherwise, we have a boot that is completely black from top to bottom, with the small exception of the studs, which are semi-transparent but have a black base.

Now that we’re talking about the new Copa, let’s take a quick look at the new technologies and how it differs from the previous generation. The outsole is undoubtedly the element that has changed the most, adopting a new shape that suits virtually every player’s style. adidas aims to cater to all players so that it can be a good choice for the majority of footballers. The main change was undoubtedly the shape of the sole and the arrangement of the studs. The SENSEFRAME outsole has become more responsive, thanks in part to the new shape of the studs, which have gone from being conical to something more aggressive. As we’ve already mentioned, the stud layout has also changed; adidas has positioned them in strategic areas, at the points of greatest support where changes in direction and speed mainly occur.

The upper is perhaps the part that has undergone the fewest changes, partly because it’s impossible to improve on something that’s already perfect. Fusionskin makes a return; we see the ultra-soft kangaroo leather and knit fabric, a perfect combination for maximum comfort and grip. However, there are some notable textured details throughout this area – elements that adidas has included to enhance ball touch and ensure it’s 100% effective. The same elements, called Sense Pods, can be found on the inside of the heel: small foam structures that the German brand has incorporated to make the foot more stable and improve the fit. Furthermore, there is a significant change in the ankle area, specifically the entry zone. The German brand has sought to give it a different shape, one that better adapts to the foot and facilitates its entry into the boot. Moreover, we see that this area is surrounded by stretchy knit fabric that will expand to take the shape of your foot and fit perfectly.
