As Reusch is a pioneering brand in the technological evolution of goalkeeper gloves, these new gloves are set to continue driving that trend for the German brand. The company took the market by storm with the previous Reusch Pure Contact X Ray Speedbump, but with this new range, the Germans are taking another step forward, both in terms of the bold design of the entire glove and the technology, bringing back once again none other than the Reusch Speedbump.
It is worth noting that, although more than a year has passed since the launch of the Fit Control range, these new gloves have a more technical name that bears no relation to the names of previous collections, such as Repulse, Receptor, Prisma, Waorani, etc. Although the name bears no relation to those collections, the design certainly does, as we can see details characteristic of the 2017 Reusch Prisma model throughout the back of these new gloves.
Technical features: Reusch Fit Control
As is customary with Reusch, these new goalkeeper gloves are available in three high-end ranges, each with different features. Let’s start with what matters most to any goalkeeper: the palm. The German latex blend used in this range has been treated with numerous special additives and boasts exceptional properties, providing extreme softness and top-quality grip. However, although Reusch adds small dots of sturdier latex to this palm to slightly increase its durability, it is important to note that it is designed exclusively for use on very soft surfaces, such as natural grass, as the G3 Fusion foam is extremely soft.
Let’s now move on to the area where traditional goalkeepers will find what they’re looking for. These gloves feature an Evolution Cut ESS (Rollfinger 2.0) design, with anatomical lines running across the entire palm to completely envelop the thumb. At the base of the palm, there is a thin layer of latex with a very high percentage of synthetic material.
Last but not least, we come to the back of the glove, which is made from 3D Air Vent mesh and features the ProFlex system in the central area. It also has two latex panels with different textures and flex zones. It is worth noting that this model does not feature ShockShield Advance, which slightly reduces the glove’s rigidity and protection. The design is completed by a classic latex and elastic wristband that wraps around the wrist.
