Four years—that's how long it took for SP Serendipity goalkeeper gloves to get an update. When SP Fútbol launched this glove in 2018, it did so with the conviction that it had created something that would make a mark in the world of goalkeeping, and so it did. Sales skyrocketed, and consumer feedback was so positive that the brand decided to continue offering a product that everyone who tried it fell in love with.
But four years is a long time in the world of sports equipment, and although they were still good, the SP Serendipity goalkeeper gloves needed an update in line with what the market offers today. And that is what the Spanish brand has done: improve one of its star gloves while maintaining one principle throughout the process: Serendipity could not, and should not, lose its essence.
Serendipity is more than just a name. The inspiration for the name comes from the word ‘serendipity’ which is a valuable and unexpected discovery that occurs accidentally while searching for something else. That's why SP Fútbol named this line Serendipity, because while searching for eye-catching gloves, you'll find an elegant glove that you'll fall in love with instantly.
Moving on to the improvements, we start with the most visually striking one: the back. The brand has decided to reduce the latex in this area and replace it with breathprene, which will exponentially improve the fit. Breathprene is a more elastic material than latex, so the glove will feel much more secure and comfortable.
The second improvement can be found in what is perhaps the most important part of goalkeeper gloves: the palm. The new SP Serendipity gloves feature Visco latex, a second-generation latex in which the Spanish brand has managed to increase wet grip, one of the weak points of this latex. This is crucial, because even if it is not raining, most football pitches are watered before the match and during half-time, so we no longer have to worry about that film of water that forms on the ball.
That's all about the new Serendipity SP Fútbol goalkeeper gloves, slight updates to one of the most popular gloves on the market, now available in shops and on the Fútbol Emotion website.
The 2023 Women's World Cup has begun, with the Spanish and Portuguese national teams wearing SP gloves during the tournament in Australia and New Zealand.
Lightness taken to its highest expression. SP Football presents the second generation of Zero Knit, the most minimalist version of the brand's seamless glove.
