According to Greek mythology, Zeus, father of gods and men, tasked Atlas with holding up the world with his own hands. Drawing inspiration from this, SP Fútbol has designed its new gloves, which, replacing the Caos range, will be responsible for protecting the hands of some of the Spanish brand’s finest goalkeepers. This collection comprises four models: Atlas Elite, Atlas Elite Aqualove, Atlas Strong and Atlas Air, which we will present below, detailing the materials and technologies used.
Let’s start with the Atlas Elite, the most sophisticated glove in SP Fútbol’s history. This time, the Spanish brand has used two different materials for the back of the glove. The first is Breathprene, which forms the base of the glove; this flexible, stretchy material provides the comfort we need when wearing the gloves. On the other hand, we have LatexBody with injected gel for the upper part of the glove, which provides the extra support needed in that area. SP Fútbol has also incorporated an elastic closure strap into the new SP Atlas Elite goalkeeper gloves, designed to allow each goalkeeper to achieve a personalised fit. Finally, let’s talk about the palm, a key feature in goalkeeper gloves. This time, SP Fútbol has opted for its QBlock palm, a premium latex blended with quartz particles that we’ve seen before in the Spanish brand’s Elite models, and which is highly praised by everyone who’s been lucky enough to try it.
Moving on to the colours, these gloves form part of the Heat Map collection, featuring designs inspired by the heat maps of footballers on the pitch that we often see on television. Black takes centre stage in the launch of Atlas, combined with blue and orange details – colours that stand out and catch the eye against such a dark background, whilst complementing each other perfectly.
We’re continuing with the AquaLove version of the new SP Atlas Elite, and here we’ll focus solely on the exterior design, as this model is exactly the same as the Atlas Elite, with the sole difference being the palm, which on this model is the AquaBlock. As we already know, SP Fútbol's AquaLove models are goalkeeper gloves designed to perform in wet conditions, and what better colour to represent that than blue.
The Spanish have decided to give the new SP Atlas Elite Aqualove goalkeeper gloves a full blue makeover – a brilliant choice that makes it clear that if water is involved, this is the perfect model for making saves, or at least for giving it a go. Moving on to the details, white is used for the SP logo, as well as some of the lines decorating the back of the glove. Dark blue will be used for the remaining lines, whilst both the closure strap and the gussets will be black.
Finally, we’ll be looking at the two models that complete this new SP Fútbol collection: Water and Fire, Black and White, Strong and Air. Two polar opposites, ensuring that every goalkeeper can find the Atlas model that best suits their style.
First, we’ll look at the SP Atlas Strong goalkeeper gloves. With a focus on durability, the Spanish brand has decided to launch this version of its new gloves for goalkeepers who prefer the feeling of their hands being well protected. LatexBody will form the entire body of these gloves, and they will be mounted on a ViscoBlock palm made from 4mm-thick latex and viscoelastic foam. The hybrid roll/flat cut will provide the finishing touch to these new SP Atlas Strong football goalkeeper gloves. Did you want a sturdy design? Well, there you have it.
But SP Fútbol knows that there are also goalkeepers who prefer minimalism and lightness, and for them it has launched the new SP Atlas Air goalkeeper gloves. The one-piece LatexBody shell and the QBlock palm in a hybrid/negative roll cut are the only things that will come between your hands and the ball. A lightweight, snug-fitting and utterly minimalist glove for all those goalkeepers who feel that, with it, they are capable of reaching even the most impossible balls.
These are the Atlas, the new range of SP Fútbol gloves, which you can buy from today on the Fútbol Emotion website.
The 2023 Women's World Cup has begun, with the Spanish and Portuguese national teams wearing SP gloves during the tournament in Australia and New Zealand.
Lightness taken to its highest expression. SP Football presents the second generation of Zero Knit, the most minimalist version of the brand's seamless glove.
