SP Atlas goalkeeper gloves

Following the huge success of its latest release, the SP No Goal Knit, the Spanish brand SP Fútbol has gone one better and has just launched a new model of goalkeeper gloves on the market, designed for all goalkeeping enthusiasts.

This latest addition to the SP family is a goalkeeper glove model which, in its Elite version, will replace the previous Chaos model. Furthermore, as is now customary, the brand is sticking to its tradition of giving its gloves names from mythology, something we’ve seen since the launch of the Odin.

In Greek mythology, the god ATLAS is the Titan entrusted by Zeus with the task of holding up the world. Here we find a natural play on words that links the name of the glove and the mythology behind Atlas with the huge responsibility that goalkeepers bear during a football match.

From a technical perspective, the collection comprises four models:

The Elite models are the most advanced in SP’s history, featuring two different materials on the back: LatexBody with gel injected into the fingertip area and Breathprene at the base of the glove. One is stiffer, whilst the other is flexible and stretchy. The palm has a negative cut, extending over the fingertips, and features an elasticated band.

To complete the collection, two models with extreme construction features are being launched: the STRONG, which is heavily reinforced, with a hybrid roll/flat cut, a full LatexBody shell and a 4 mm-thick viscoelastic latex Viscoblock palm; and the AIR, which features a hybrid roll/negative cut, is extremely lightweight, has a LatexBody shell and no elastic band.
