New Puma Ultra

Puma's most minimalist boot is undergoing a generational change in an effort to secure a permanent place in the niche market for the best lightweight football boots on the market.

Puma bases its name and logo on a feline that, like most cats, is known for its agility and speed. This is the concept the brand uses to promote its most minimalist line, which aims to provide the extra agility and speed that Ultra players need to stand out from the rest.

To achieve this, today from Germany we are presented with the new generation of Puma Ultra football boots, which feature several differences from the previous generation. The first is found in what is the most important part of a football boot: the upper. A few months ago, Puma launched the Italian national football team's jersey, which stands out for the new technology used to make it, called ULTRAWEAVE. Today, this material is being used for the first time in Puma football boots in an attempt to make a difference, as it is the lightest fabric ever made by a sportswear brand.

But this isn't the only technological innovation we find on the upper of the new Puma Ultra football boots. Contact with the ball is something that footballers are increasingly prioritising, and the brand couldn't be left behind in this regard. To this end, they have included PWRPRINT technology, which offers two key benefits. The first is extra grip when we have the ball at our feet, which is extremely important given the frenetic pace of modern football. The second is extra material, which, although not excessive, is sure to be appreciated when we need to strike the ball with all our might.

One aesthetic detail we would like to highlight is the return of the classic Puma logo to the outer area. This curved line, which narrows as it rises, is undoubtedly one of the most iconic elements in football history, and we wholeheartedly welcome the brand's design team's decision that the time has come for it to once again form part of the Puma Ultra football boots.

We travel to the rear of the Puma speed silo to find the latest major technological modification brought to us by this new generation. It is called PWRTAPE and consists of a strip of synthetic material that, due to its shape and location, acts as an external heel counter. With this, the brand has managed to eliminate a really large and rigid external heel counter, replacing it with a technology that is sure to improve the comfort of this model, as well as making a positive contribution to its aesthetics.

Finally, we will talk about the studs, and although it is true that we find some changes, this plate is inspired by the previous generation. We still have an aggressive sole, which bears the usual FG/AG letters, but honestly, we find it hard to believe that anyone can play safely with these boots on artificial turf. The main new feature is that, for the first time, the plate on Puma's speed silo is not made of a single piece, which is sure to reduce the weight of the boots. Another new feature is the addition of a small stud at the front, which is designed to provide extra traction when sprinting, but we don't think we'll notice it too much given its size.

These are all the latest features of the new boots worn by Griezmann, Depay, Varane and many others. As you can imagine, they are now available both in stores and on the Fútbol Emotion website.
