New Balance launches a new exclusive edition for Raheem Sterling, the first of this generation of Furon, with a design inspired by the English winger's childhood.

Raheem Sterling will have the honour of starring in the first special edition for footballers of the new New Balance Furon v7 football boots. It's no secret that, alongside Sadio Mané, Sterling is New Balance's franchise player, and the American brand constantly proves this with special editions that go beyond just a different colour.
Raheem Sterling's football boots tell us a new chapter in his life story, related to the footballer's childhood and delving deeper into his personal life. When the winger was little, his parents couldn't take him to training because they were working to combat the family's financial difficulties, so to get to training, Raheem would take up to three different buses, always accompanied by his older sister. Once training was over, the journey home was the same: a long way, but the only option for a boy who dreamed of becoming a footballer.
The connection between that story and Sterling's exclusive New Balance Furon football boots can be found in their design, as we can see in the photographs that the pattern is the same as that featured on the seats of the buses Sterling had to take to get to training.
As a distinctive feature, and as a reference to its star player, New Balance has once again placed the Chelsea player's logo on the heel area, dyed in fuchsia pink to perfectly match the rest of the design of the new New Balance Furon football boots, exclusive to Raheem Sterling.
Personally, we welcome the fact that when footballers receive special editions, there is a story behind them, and in this particular case, the fact that Sterling includes a childhood memory that he is proud of speaks volumes about his personality and shows that even though things are going really well for him today, he has not forgotten where he came from.
In terms of technological innovations, these New Balance Furon football boots offer nothing new. We are simply looking at a cosmetic change, which, in addition to telling a story, looks really good on the lightest silo from the Boston-born brand.
