Although the FC Barcelona player still wore the previous colourway of the Puma Ultra boots in the match against Portugal, the fact is that in training sessions following that match – and whilst in France ahead of the French team’s final match against Sweden – the Blaugrana player was spotted wearing a new and different colour scheme for the German brand’s speed boot. With the official launch of the boot yesterday, it has now been confirmed that the French player was wearing the new Puma Ultra 1.2 Speed of Light, a boot that will be available to buy from the 19th of November.

During his final days at FC Porto, the Brazilian player was spotted wearing both fully blacked-out boots and even training in the New Balance Furon V6. Following his move to England, the only thing that changed was that he stopped training in boots from other brands and continued, until quite recently, to train in a pair of blacked-out Nike Phantom GTs. We say ‘until quite recently’ because during the Brazilian national team’s first training sessions for these two 2022 World Cup qualifiers, the Manchester United player was spotted wearing the launch colourway of that very same boot from the American brand. Could there have been a contract renewal between the two parties?

Last Wednesday, in the match between the Principality of Andorra and Portugal, the Andorran player took to the pitch wearing a real gem and, in our opinion, one of the best models in the history of the German brand’s speed boots. The old adidas X boots are a real ‘must-have’ at the moment, as many professional footballers who don’t have sponsorship deals with the major brands are seen wearing this model.

And we round off this week with a real gem and possibly even the best remake of all time. At least on our website it was a huge success, as it sold out in just a few minutes when it went on sale. It is a more modern version of the classic adidas Predator football boots. There isn’t much of a story behind the Mexican player’s use of this boot in an official match for his national team against the Netherlands. His current boot sponsorship contract is coming to an end and there is even talk that the player could sign for his country’s new football boot brand: Charly Fútbol.
