A new edition of the Copa América is here, and the American brand has designed a new kit for the Rio de Janeiro side. This new jersey features the CBF crest that was unveiled recently, which highlights the new motto of Brazilian football, “joga bola”.
The jersey takes its inspiration from one of the greatest national teams in history: the 1970 Brazil side. It is now 50 years since that World Cup victory, and there could be no better occasion to pay tribute to them.
Brazil's new kit
Although the design is similar to that of other Brazil jerseys, it is in the details that we see the spirit of the 1970s Brazil team, with the green crew neck and sleeves. It also features a diamond-shaped pattern on the jersey, which is even more striking on the away kit.
Furthermore, on the inside of the collar there is a badge bearing the number 70, rounding off a perfect tribute to that legendary team.
On the technical side, as is customary with all Nike products, the quality is beyond doubt. The technology used in this jersey, as is standard in the high-end range, is Vaporknit, which allows for perfect moisture-wicking without adding bulk to the jersey. The fit is snug, yet without feeling constricting; the ribbing, visible throughout the jersey’s weave, ensures it fits like a second skin and delivers sublime performance.
And here is the new kit for Neymar, Richarlison and Vinícius Jr, which is already delighting all fans of the Brazilian national team, who are firm favourites to retain their title as champions of the Americas.
