Following on from the Bayern Munich kit we looked at yesterday, today we’d like to show you the Ajax jersey. And, to be honest, we are particularly excited to talk about it because, as you all know, Ajax is a hugely important club in the history of football. A team that has won practically everything and is, in fact, the most successful club in the Netherlands. What’s more, it’s a club that has produced great legends who revolutionised football, with Dutch players such as Cruyff, Van Basten and Kluivert, but also with young foreign talents who went on to have brilliant careers, such as Suárez and Ibrahimović. And none of this has been lost over the years: even today, Ajax remains the benchmark for Dutch football and continues to develop great talents such as De Jong and De Ligt.

With this new jersey, adidas has sought to revive all these concepts and pay tribute to a club admired by football fans around the world, regarded as one of the greatest teams in history and one of the best places to learn how to play proper football. That is why the German brand has unveiled a rather bold jersey, featuring colours that differ from those we are used to seeing. Clearly, this isn’t Ajax’s home kit, but rather the one the team will mainly wear for their away matches.

As you can see, this adidas jersey is quite unique, but, honestly, we think it’s really lovely. The message that adidas wants to convey is very important: to revisit those years when Ajax dominated Europe, to remember their great victories and to recapture the aesthetic of the 1980s, whilst, of course, incorporating modern elements. The result perfectly blends the past and the present, and that is precisely the message that adidas also conveys in one of its advertising images, with the text ‘Ready for sport’, followed by the real message: ‘Inspired by the past, created in the present to dominate the future’. As you can see, there are various colours, although the ones that stand out most are the different shades of blue and sky blue, accompanied by white details and, finally, red, which appears on the Dutch club’s crest.

Of course, adidas has thought of every detail. As well as creating a jersey that looks truly stylish, it also incorporates advanced technology. Thanks to HEAD.RD, the German brand offers players a greater sense of lightness and comfort, whilst also promoting breathability in all weather conditions.
