A steady stream of releases that really comes to the fore at the end of the season, and this one – which has been such an unusual one for everyone – was, without a doubt, no exception. These same characteristics are reflected in a new design for the 2020-21 home kit, which celebrates the club’s rich heritage through a jersey with a traditional collar, capturing the special spirit of the Rojiblancos in the fiery red vertical stripes.
The traditional red and white stripes cover the front, back and sleeves of the jersey, and are slightly distorted to create a modern feel. A navy blue turn-down collar is fastened by two central buttons, whilst a blue stripe runs down the sides of the torso. Navy blue shorts and red socks complete the look, with the word ‘Atleti’ appearing halfway down the calf.
One of the club’s stalwarts, Saúl Ñíguez, comments: ‘This kit has a very classic look and it’s good to have a full collar for the first time in a long while.’
