At last we have one of the first football jerseys for the coming season, and this isn’t just any team’s kit , but that of a historic club which has been home to true legends and still boasts great stars in its ranks today. A club with victory in its DNA. We’re talking about Bayern Munich’s new football jersey, which players of the calibre of Lewandowski and captain Neuer will wear during the 2020–21 season.
As you may have seen in some of the photos, the jersey is very simple and classic. In fact, adidas has chosen not to go for a colour combination or a design that is too bold – quite the opposite, in fact. The brand has played it safe and stuck with the club’s classic colours, red and white, without any sort of print. In recent years, we’ve become used to seeing jerseys with all sorts of prints and very bold designs which, on many occasions, stray from the club’s philosophy and fail to win over the players and, above all, the fans. When brands unveil a different jersey, it’s common for it to attract criticism and not be to everyone’s liking. However, this isn’t the case here. The German brand has opted for a safe bet with a simple jersey in the club’s classic colours: a deep, uniform red covering the entire jersey, accompanied by white, which provides contrast and adds a more eye-catching touch, particularly on the collar and sleeves. Naturally, the shorts and socks will be the same colour, creating a simple yet spectacular kit.
The goalkeeper’s jersey, on the other hand, is a little more daring, although it doesn’t stray too far from the classic style. adidas has chosen a sea-green kit for Bayern’s German goalkeeper, which also features a simple, classic design. Many of you will no doubt have already seen it, as it was worn in a match on 10 June, in the semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt, which ended in a 2–1 victory for the Bavarian side, who were already sporting Bayern Munich’s new kit.
As you might expect, adidas has also paid close attention to the technical details. As well as offering a truly eye-catching design, the jersey incorporates advanced technology. With HEAT.RDY, the German brand provides players with a greater sense of lightness and comfort, as well as excellent ventilation in all weather conditions.
