After a long period of difficulties, Inter want to return to greatness; they want to be that team once again, remembered for having players such as Ronaldo, Recoba and Milito – teams that went on to win the Champions League, league titles and trebles – and, of course, the only club never to have been relegated to Serie B. With all these motivations in mind, Inter have decided to pay tribute to the club and the city with a modern jersey featuring classic details, and today we’re going to take a closer look at it. As you can see on the jersey, it features the club’s classic colours: black and blue, which complement each other perfectly and make this kit look spectacular. As you can see, the kit revives the iconic black-and-blue stripes, but does so in a more modern way, forming a zigzag design reminiscent of the 1980s Milanese art movement, Tribal-Pop. It also references the Biscione, the club’s historic emblem.
“We’re always working to reinterpret the club’s striped identity. This time, we’ve drawn inspiration from one of Milan’s leading artistic movements,” said Scott Munson, vice-president of Nike Football Apparel.
“The zigzag pattern forms the basis of the postmodernist design and also references the Biscione. The result is a striking kit that perfectly complements the club’s unique character.”
In addition, there are some white details, such as the Nike logo in the top right-hand corner and the club’s sponsor. There are also black side stripes that give the jersey a more aggressive look, and finally, it features a modern and very comfortable round neck.
