There are exactly 66 days left until the World Cup. In the blink of an eye, we will be glued to our screens to watch the biggest event in the world of football. Although the 2022 World Cup in Qatar has not got off to the best start (due to the many controversies surrounding the construction of the stadiums and other political issues), Nike has managed to lift the spirits of fans by unveiling today all the kits we will see in just over two months' time. We would describe Nike's work as surprising, as it has managed to give most of the kits a modern and bold touch without straying too far from the traditions and roots of each country. Obviously, going into all the details of every jersey would be too much information, so here is our top three:
Thirdly, we have the collection that includes Croatia's home and away jerseys. The traditional red and white checkered pattern on the home jersey is discontinuous this time, giving more space to the colour white, which represents purity. The away jersey, on the other hand, features a dark blue that fades into an electric light blue at the top, also forming a checkered pattern.
Second place deservedly goes to the pack featuring Saudi Arabia's home and away kits. Until now, Saudi Arabia had not been one of the teams Nike had paid much attention to, but with Qatar 2022 on the horizon, the American brand wanted to come up with a design that was as striking as it was fascinating. The jersey that the Saudi team will wear for their home matches features a design dominated by a print that echoes the feathers of a falcon, which are also reproduced on the crest. In contrast, the away kit features several shades of green and an irregular pattern.
At the top of our list, we couldn't leave out the Nigerian national team's jersey. Even though they didn't qualify for the World Cup, they still managed to come up with a spectacular and beautiful collection. The home features a striking look thanks to the contrast between dark green and neon green. This fantastic combination makes the jersey's print, consisting of various figures and patterns characteristic of the country, appear to be in constant motion. The away is much simpler, with a single detail running from the shoulders to the sleeves.
