The official ball for Euro 2020 has undergone a complete makeover for the tournament’s most crucial stage, which will decide who will succeed Portugal as European champions. Up until the quarter-finals, all the teams played with a version of the Uniforia that we had been familiar with since early last year, featuring a design that symbolised the cross-border nature of this competition, held across several countries.
For this final stage of European football’s premier continental competition, adidas has unveiled a new version of the official match ball, which continues to celebrate the blurring of boundaries and the vast diversity of fans and players taking part in the tournament.
A number of new details have been added to this version of the Uniforia, features that make this ball stand out on the pitch. Among them is a watermark of Wembley Stadium, the venue where the semi-finals have already been played and where, on Sunday, England will host Italy to decide who will be the new European champions.
The other features are highlighted with touches of green, red, cyan and pink, inspired by the iconic symbols and traditional colours of the city of London, against a black background representing the London night sky.
