Goalkeeper of the Month (November 2018)

The Futbol Emotion Academy goalkeeper schools are now in full swing, and our goalkeepers are making great strides in their progress and improvement. This clear upward trend is one we’re confident will continue until the end of the season

This November, we want to introduce you to the most outstanding goalkeepers from each of Futbol Emotion Academy’s goalkeeping schools. Take note of their faces and names, because we’re sure that many of them will go on to become the great goalkeepers of the future across the Spanish football scene.

In La Roda, Albacete, the goalkeeper who has stood out the most, in the opinion of his coaches, has been Jonathan Paños. One of the most experienced goalkeepers at the academy, he has distinguished himself from the rest through his commitment, his professionalism in training and his constant support for the coaches.

In Barcelona, both schools are establishing a strong presence in the area under the leadership of Josep Sallent and his entire team of highly skilled professionals, who delight all their goalkeepers week after week. In Granollers, the best goalkeeper during November was the young Unai Escobar Rubio – a well-deserved accolade for his effort, hard work and progress.

Meanwhile, at the club’s other training ground in Sabadell, amongst the large number of goalkeepers who come to train on Mondays and Thursdays, Águeda Casamián Alier and Martí Rey Sánchez have been named Goalkeepers of the Month.

At the Bilbao training ground, the goalkeepers continue to develop, improve and have a great time every Monday and Wednesday with Gaizka Egaña and Aketza. Among them, three young players have won the prize awarded to the goalkeepers of the month for November. This month, the prize was a rucksack for them to carry their training kit each week, ready for their days at school. Congratulations to Aitor Iriondo, Enaitz Bereciartua and Oier Zabala.

We love seeing the high standard and enthusiasm at another of our most illustrious schools, Las Palmas. The coordinator, Miguel Guerra, and former UD Las Palmas goalkeeper Javier Ortega have chosen to recognise two outstanding goalkeepers for their work during the month of November. Mauro and Kisay are the Canarian goalkeepers of the month.

Another leading goalkeeping academy in the country is the one run by former Real Madrid goalkeeper Óliver Cuadrado. At the Alcorcón centre, the three goalkeepers of the month were Saúl Múñoz from the youngest group, Quique Pérez from the second group, and Rogelio Treviño, one of the most experienced goalkeepers at our academy.

In Pontevedra, Celta de Vigo’s manager, César Pazos, wants to highlight a great goalkeeper who, week after week, is honing his skills; David is a diamond in the rough.

One city where every pitch is covered is Valencia. The academy run by former professional goalkeeper Jorge Bartual wanted to recognise Izan, Aitor and Dario by presenting them with rucksacks.

The latest academy to recognise its goalkeepers of the month is the one with the highest number of players. In Zaragoza, Adrián Sanguino’s charges are making their mark more and more. And from among them all, the coaching staff have selected Pablo Morcillo, Iván de Luco and Joaquín Zapata.

Congratulations to all the goalkeepers at our schools in general, and to the award winners in particular. Next month we’ll find out who the final ‘Goalkeeper of the Month’ winners for 2018 are.
