The start of the season is just around the corner, and brands are beginning to reveal the new products they’ve got in store for the start of the competitions. This time it’s Puma’s turn: with this Faster Forward Pack, they’re bringing us new additions to their two ranges, Future and Ultra.
Let’s start by talking about the Puma Future football boots. The German brand has given these new Puma Future boots a colour update – and what a colour it is. Puma’s most high-performance boot is now finished in electric blue, combining this colour with white and red detailing. The truth is that, visually, the Puma Future Z football boots look spectacular in this new colourway, which is sure to catch the eye of any sports equipment enthusiast.
Looking at the colour scheme, one player and one kit immediately spring to mind, and that is none other than the Uruguayan Luis Suárez wearing these football boots for Atlético Madrid. The red-and-white kit, which usually features blue detailing, will go perfectly with these new Puma Future boots, and this is surely something Puma took into account when deciding which colour would take centre stage for these football boots in the new Faster Forward Pack.

A real statement of intent, designed to shake up any brands that might be resting on their laurels. The Puma Future football boots are, as the name suggests, the future. Starting with the upper, the new Future Z has been built around this adaptive compression band called FuzionFit+, which provides optimal lockdown and support for movement, as well as increased agility to further support multi-directional movements. As you’d expect, it features the built-in GripControl Pro for a refined touch on the ball and perfect control. It also features the super-lightweight Dynamic Motion System outsole and an advanced stud configuration for multi-directional movement and traction.
Let’s move on to the Puma Ultra football boots; this time, we’re not just talking about a simple colour change, but rather the launch of a new generation of this range. We’ll start by discussing a key aspect of this generational change: from now on, there will be two Puma Ultra models – one exclusively for women and the other unisex. There are two key differences between the two: a narrower last in the women’s version and a different stud plate, replacing the laminated studs with conical ones, thereby adapting it to the anatomical needs of women when playing football.
Let’s move on to the parts that haven’t changed from the previous generation. In the unisex model, the outsole remains the same as before, featuring 11 laminated studs that clearly indicate the type of player these football boots are designed for. Stopping, accelerating and traction at top speed – this is what the Puma Ultra’s FG/AG outsole delivers. We’re still discussing the similarities between the previous generation and the one we’re presenting today, so let’s move on to the instep and ankle area. In this section, Puma continues to use EVOKnit, the material the German brand has perfected across its two football boot ranges, providing equal measures of comfort and support.
Now, let’s talk about the main difference we find in this new generation of Puma Ultra boots, which is none other than the upper. Puma has jumped on the transparent trend and has introduced a new upper for these Ultra boots, featuring several transparent panels that allow us to glimpse the colour of the wearer’s socks. This new upper is constructed from MATRYXEVO, a yarn-based material that makes these Puma Ultra boots lighter and more minimalist, giving us a purer feel for the ball. Speaking of ball contact, this upper features Grip Control Pro technology, which, as the name suggests, provides grip when we’re in possession of the ball.
Moving on to the exterior design, this second generation of the Puma Ultra comes in a beautiful, eye-catching salmon colour – a shade previously seen on football boots – and it has to be said that it looks absolutely stunning on these Puma Ultra football boots. The detailing is in blue and white, creating a sense of harmony between these Puma Ultra boots and the previously mentioned Future model.

GripControl Pro: Puma’s upper design for greater control over the ball when you’re on the attack. The lightweight MATRYXEVO technology, crafted from responsive carbon fibres, provides superior grip during rapid forward movements. The ultra-fast SpeedUnit outsole incorporates the DNA of running spikes for rapid acceleration.
This is Puma’s new Faster Forward Pack, which the German brand’s players will be wearing to kick off the 21/22 season.
