The biggest move of the last transfer window didn’t take place on the pitch – or at least not within the offices of one of the world’s top clubs. This transfer was orchestrated by Puma and served to confirm what everyone had already been expecting: the signing of a contract with Brazilian superstar Neymar back in September 2020. The aim: to consolidate Puma’s position in the world of football as one of the fastest-growing brands with the strongest presence on social media. Today, six months on, he is wearing his first exclusive boot. Welcome to the Neymar Jr Creativity Collection.
The new Neymar Jr's boots // Puma Future Creativity Collection
If there’s one thing we can say about Puma football boots – and the wonderful atmosphere they’ve created, particularly over the last three years – it’s their dedication. That dedication is so important for maintaining a unique identity in today’s football boot market. They get absolutely everything right: the materials, the marketing, the communication, and listening to their audience. There’s nothing to fault. Puma Football, aware of this, adapts to trends, hence this new collection.
Athlete or Artist. On the pitch or on the street. Creativity knows no bounds. It goes beyond the conventional, and so does the Neymar Jr. Creativity collection, featuring vibrant street-inspired graphics and splashes of colour that represent joy and inspiration, celebrating the most creative playmaker in the game. The Puma Future 1.1 football boot pays tribute to the most exciting players in the game, the creative mavericks who stand out for their skill and quick thinking, shaping the game to their vision with every movement, every move, every action to drive the opposition wild.
A real statement of intent, designed to give the competition a run for their money. The Puma Future football boots are exactly what their name suggests: the future. Starting with the upper, there’s a dramatic change compared to the Puma Future 6.1 from the previous generation. We can see that NETFIT is no longer present, and we immediately notice the entire upper section, which instantly stands out in the design. It is undoubtedly the band that wraps around the midfoot. In fact, the new Future has been built around this compression band, called Adaptive FuzionFit+, which provides optimal lockdown and support for movement, as well as increased agility to further support multi-directional movements. As you’d expect, it features built-in GripControl Pro for a refined touch and perfect ball control.
Moving on to the outsole, this time we’re setting aside the RapidAgility technology in the midfoot to focus on the new design. To further support multi-directional movements, the Future features an innovative ‘Z’-shaped outsole known as the Dynamic Motion System, strategically positioned to deliver the best possible traction in every aspect of the game. It’s no secret that the Future is designed without compromise, so that every challenge on the football pitch can be overcome. It’s designed to suit all tastes and is intended to aid dribbling, creativity and daring. The ‘Z’ represents and celebrates the zig-zag movement of dribbling and multi-directional play.
Perhaps what best characterised the Puma Future was the character it brought to the lacing system, as well as the design of the boot’s interior. However, it has now been completely redesigned to focus on enhancing the performance of the most dynamic playmakers. This boot is surely the perfect answer to the latest innovations. Furthermore, players who want to keep the ball at their feet and need an agile, responsive boot to support their creative style of play will find it here.
This is Neymar Jr.’s new boot for the start of 2021. The Future is part of the Creativity Collection, which – unsurprisingly – includes lifestyle clothing options so that football never ends. Also, don’t forget that the new generation of Puma Future boots is now available on the Fútbol Emotion website.
