Puma presents its new collection, featuring a radical aesthetic overhaul of its two main ranges.

Football is a sport of light and shadow, but it’s clear that everything that matters happens under the spotlight. At Puma, they’re well aware of this, which is why today they’re unveiling ‘Under the Lights’, the German brand’s new collection featuring a colour combination never before seen on Puma football boots. As you know, the brand with the leopard logo offers us two completely contrasting ranges, and just as with Puma’s previous Faster Forward Pack, they’re once again contrasting in terms of colours.
Let’s start by talking about the Puma Future Z football boots, a pair of studded boots that are surprisingly lightweight – although this shouldn’t really come as a surprise, given that they’re designed for striking the ball. It’s a bold design for these new Puma football boots, which stand out thanks to their three-colour scheme. Turquoise for the front, lime green for the elastic mid-panel known as ‘FuzionFit+’, and dark blue for the heel area. Both the brand logo and the boot logo appear in white, a good decision by Puma as it looks brilliant in combination with the three colours. The colour that does surprise us a little more is the one chosen for the laces. A lime green, similar to that of the central band, is the choice of the Germans, but looking at the boot as a whole, we have our doubts as to whether that is the ideal shade for that part.
Now that we’ve covered the designs and colours, let’s move on to opinions, which, as you know, are always a matter of personal taste. Puma has brought us something a bit different this time, an unusual design that clearly distinguishes the three parts of the boot. Does this look bad? Not at all, but it’s true that we personally would have chosen different colours which, when combined in the overall design of the boot, would have created a more harmonious look, although as said before, this is purely our own opinion.
Having already covered the Future Z, we now turn our attention to the new Puma Ultra 1.3 football boots, the brand’s speed range. Speed football boots lend themselves to bright, eye-catching and bold colours, and all brands are well aware of this. For this reason, Puma has clad these Ultras in lime green, which, combined with black, gives them the aggressive, contemporary look that the range demands. This colour is the same as that found on the central stripe of the new Puma Future Z football boots, thus linking both models to the same pack and giving the two designs a sense of cohesion.
This is the third colourway for the Puma Ultra football boots since the range was last updated, and to be honest, if we had to choose just one, we’d find it really hard to decide.
Future and Ultra, Puma’s two boot models, are back with a new design in this Under The Lights Pack. If you like them, they’re now available on the Fútbol Emotion website.
Nineties nostalgia is back with a combination of the new adidas Predator boots and the signature 90s aesthetic of adidas EQT. These luxurious boots are going to be thoroughly analysed.
