The new Nike football boots are here, at a turbulent, strange time – but above all, a time when our eagerness to lace up our football boots is overflowing. With the launch of these new boots, Nike has indirectly managed to fill that little void, that gap that brings us a little closer to the football pitches, giving us a sense of returning to normality.
New Nike football boots pack
Let’s start by talking about the design and where the inspiration for these boots comes from. As we all know, the American brand is fully committed to football in every sense. Young talents who one day inspire the next generation to want to be just like them. You aren’t born a star; you become one and work for it. Just as we see reflected in Cristiano Ronaldo’s football boots, or in Megan Rapinoe’s. That’s why we see how subtle colours take centre stage, almost shifting to an electric blue, which is gradually making a strong appearance.
Wavelengths, for those who don’t know, are the distance between two points of maximum (peaks) or two points of minimum (troughs), but they remain constant. Just as in the life of a footballer, there are highs and lows, moments of winning and losing, but the journey is always forward.
The players who will be wearing these boots in the coming days are Mason Mount, in his Nike Phantom VSN football boots, helping Tammy Abraham find the back of the net in his Nike Mercurial football boots – both players wearing the Chelsea jersey. Similarly, midfielder Caroline Graham will wear the Phantom VSN to assist Mariona Caldentey, who wears the Mercurial, both proudly sporting the FC Barcelona jersey.
New Wavelength Pack
We begin our look at the collection with the boot launched as part of the Nike Future Lab Pack, which is none other than the Nike Phantom Vision II. As we mentioned in our review, this boot offers an excellent combination of comfort and fit, thanks to the Flyknit construction combined with the internal mesh known as ‘QuadFit’.
The new upper retains the essence of the Phantom whilst improving grip and fit thanks to the new layout of the grip elements, as well as the new, much more minimalist collar. The sole remains exactly the same and retains the semi-conical stud pattern, which in my opinion is perfect for today’s pitches. A boot without a single flaw.
And we finish with what is perhaps the fastest boot of all – as you all know, the Nike Mercurial football boots – a design that you’ll fall in love with at first sight and that’s ready to make us fly across the pitch.
The Flyknit construction of these boots is simply stunning and provides a truly superior fit. The crimson design combined with black not only stands out, but features details on the sole and the side that give it a stunning pearlescent finish. A spectacular detail. The grip on this boot is incredibly aggressive, allowing sprinters to give their all in every race; Neymar and Mbappé’s boots are once again at the top of the football boot rankings.
