We often look for football boots that are narrower or wider, depending on the shape of our foot. However, both styles have something in common: whichever we need, we want the boots to be comfortable and to provide a pleasant, snug fit and cushioning across the whole foot. That’s why we’ve selected several models which, whether because of their construction or the feel they offer when worn, fit perfectly on this list.
We’ll start with a pair of boots that simply had to be included in this selection. Those of you who follow us regularly know full well that the Puma Future won us over from the very first moment we held them in our hands. These football boots have countless virtues, but for this review we’re going to focus solely on their comfort and the snug, cushioned feel they provide.
This sensation is mainly down to Evoknit, the material responsible for providing a precise fit and exceptional comfort. Its construction, combined with the textured layer on top of the material itself, wraps around the foot in a very comfortable way. Without a doubt, a fantastic choice for those seeking comfort without compromising on performance.
Next up is another option that might surprise you a little more, but which deserves a place on this list precisely because of its choice of materials. We’re talking about the adidas X 19+, a pair of football boots which, thanks to their X-Layskin inner lining, offer a level of comfort superior to that of many other speed boots.
However, one of their greatest strengths in terms of comfort lies in the heel counter area. Here, there is an external heel counter which, thanks to its taller design and the material used on the inside, provides an exceptional fit. This combination makes these speed boots a truly comfortable choice.
The perfect cushioning
To round off the top three, we’ve chosen the adidas Copa 19+. These boots perfectly combine natural leather and synthetic materials. This combination of materials, together with the Fusion Skin process, ensures that the natural leather upper and semi-conical studs provide excellent cushioning and comfort.
Second place on the podium goes to a pair of boots which, until the launch of the new Mercurials, were our favourites in the American brand’s range. This is largely thanks to their last, which is particularly well-suited to players with wider feet. The Nike Phantom Vision are football boots which, thanks to the combination of Flyknit and Quadfit technology, provide the player with a cushioned feel that is noticeable with every touch of the ball. This sensation is complemented by a very comfortable outsole which, as well as being lightweight, helps to further enhance that feeling of comfort.
And finally, we come to the queen of cushioning: a pair of boots that stand out for the comfort technology built into their sole. We’re talking, of course, about the adidas Predator 19+. In our opinion, they’re the best choice for players who are really looking for a high level of comfort and a cushioned interior. This is mainly down to their construction, which perfectly combines the Primeknit upper with different foam zones that give shape to the Predator Element. The result is a simply spectacular cushioned feel and ball contact. But all that comfort isn’t achieved by the upper alone. The sole also features Boost technology, which works in tandem with the upper to deliver an exceptional sense of comfort with every step you take on the pitch.
These are just some of the football boots with the highest level of cushioning currently available. However, each player must find the perfect balance between cushioning and comfort that best suits their needs and the feel they are looking for in their boots.
