New Mizuno Rebula futsal shoes

The new Mizuno Rebula shoe has arrived at Fútbol Emotion. A range that’s already familiar to everyone, a range that’s been redefined once again thanks to its technological sophistication and versatility on the pitch. Let’s find out a bit more about the new futsal shoe, the Mizuno Rebula Sala Elite.

The new Mizuno futsal shoes are making their debut in the 40x20 world. This is a range that, in its day, completely revolutionised the world of football boots, but which – due to its limited media coverage and impact – is not known to everyone. As we’ve said on numerous occasions, Mizuno is one of those brands you can’t help but love; thanks to its quality and craftsmanship, it’s a brand not worn by world-class footballers, but for everyone who’s tried it, that doesn’t matter, as the Japanese brand is synonymous with a safe bet.

As we’ve mentioned, the Rebula range has a history of its own, and it is now beginning to make its mark in the world of futsal shoes. Following the launch of the first generation of this range, many players were delighted with its performance, and after a great deal of hard work, various aspects have been improved to adapt them to futsal, with the key change being the complete removal of the laces from the upper.

Let’s start by talking about the upper. Unlike Mizuno’s football boots, which are made from kangaroo leather, on this occasion the Osaka-based brand has designed its shoe with a mesh upper divided into two quite distinct sections. The first section, which runs along the toe box, features a mesh that is much more protected and better equipped to withstand the usual knocks. The second section, featuring the same mesh, is much more exposed, offering significantly greater breathability and a slight reduction in weight compared to if it were fully protected.

We can’t stop talking about the upper, because – just as with the football boot – the Japanese brand has once again used CT FRAME, a technology that’s quite common in this range. These are small foam ridges that you can see beneath the mesh. What’s more, this technology prevents the shoe from sagging or losing its shape. This CT FRAME helps to give us a more structured feel and a truly fantastic sense of cushioning when striking the ball.

One of the features I must highlight is the chassis/fit system, as there is no longer a tongue as such; instead, a neoprene panel wraps around the entire foot, providing the improved fit that was sought after in the first version – exactly as we saw in the Mizuno Rebula 2 v1 generation. Therefore, thanks to the fit provided by the new mesh, as well as the redesign of the CT FRAME, the fantastic touch and comfort offered by this range are maintained, giving us a little more support whilst also providing a better fit.

Let’s move on to everything to do with the outsole and midsole. This futsal shoe features a pre-moulded EVA rubber midsole, which provides excellent shock absorption, combined with a rubber outsole featuring several transverse flex lines and a herringbone pattern, as well as a pivot point that facilitates turns. As this is a mid-profile shoe, it offers an excellent cushioning feel.

You only need to take a quick look to recognise the performance of these shoes; you just have to look at the top professionals who have worn them at the highest levels of futsal, not to mention the fact that they’re made by Mizuno. We’ll most likely find them among the best high-end shoes very soon. Only time will tell.
