With the 2020/21 season now over and many of the Portuguese league clubs gearing up for the new season, two of the things that generate the most excitement among fans at this time of year are the unveiling of new kits and new signings. Today we’re here to present the three new ktis from one of the giants of Portuguese and world football, Futebol Clube do Porto.
New FC Porto 21/22 kits
The blue-and-white club’s new jerseys have already taken social media by storm and, more importantly, won over their own fans. Following widespread criticism last year of their two most frequently worn kits, the Porto-based club has spared no effort this year and, in collaboration with New Balance Football, has unveiled new kits that have delighted all their supporters.
We start with the ‘Dragão’ team’s new home kit, which once again features thin blue and white stripes, with white shoulders added as a distinctive feature, as well as details in two different shades of blue that lend greater depth to the design.
The away kit is, in my opinion, probably one of the most stylish the Blue and Whites have had in recent years. It is predominantly blue throughout, with gold detailing which, according to sources close to the club, represents the recent glorious chapters in its history. It is undoubtedly a stylish jersey, rich in symbolism.
Taremi was one of the players who has already worn this new away kit and admitted to being absolutely delighted with the design: “It’s great to see such an eye-catching design. Any Porto jersey always carries a sense of history, and I’m sure the fans will love this one.”
The third kit is predominantly pink and draws inspiration from the city’s bohemian and artistic neighbourhoods. Designed in a less vibrant shade of pink than the one that proved popular in the 2014/15 season, this new jersey features black detailing on the V-neck and cuffs.
