New exclusive boots for Leo Messi

The German brand adidas has unveiled a special edition of the X Speedflow, designed exclusively for Leo Messi – the first boots created exclusively for the Argentine since he left Barcelona.

A few days ago, adidas unveiled the NumbersUp Pack, the German brand’s new collection inspired by FIFA 22. The three adidas ranges were decked out in bold colours against a light background – a daring design that has attracted a wide range of opinions.

But that wasn’t all the Germans had in store for us with this collection, as Leo Messi’s exclusive football boots – which adidas has included in the NumbersUp Pack – were still to come; the launch was delayed by a few days to give the special edition for the Argentine star greater visibility and prominence.

Of course, we’re talking about the adidas X Speedflow football boots, adidas’ latest creation – boots that have had the honour of being worn by the man many consider to be the greatest player in history, Leo Messi. But these aren’t just any adidas X Speedflow boots; this design will be worn exclusively by Messi, and adidas has reflected this on the upper, featuring the Argentine’s name alongside several details which we’ll mention below.

As we’ve mentioned, the front of the upper features the PSG player’s surname alongside the number 100. Could this represent the number of goals Leo will score this season? Perhaps, but that’s not the reason behind the inclusion of this number on the upper of these football boots, designed exclusively for Leo Messi. We’ve already explained on the blog about the new adidas NumbersUp Pack why the number 99 was included in the design of its three silos, so, following this inspiration, adidas has painted the number 100 on Leo Messi’s football boots, making it clear that if the highest level for all footballers is 99, the Argentine is a step above and can reach 100.

The dominant colour of these adidas X Speedflow football boots is a muted shade of blue, complemented by dark blue on the Primeknit upper, the laces, the external heel counter and some lettering on the front of the shell. The three classic adidas stripes appear in yellow, which, against this dark, muted background, stand out and catch the eye far more than in previous Speedflow colourways. Also in yellow is the logo of the Argentine star on the back of Leo Messi’s exclusive football boots. Finally, we should mention the subtle use of pink, which adds colour to the letters on the upper that aren’t blue, creating a colour combination that is quite pleasing to the eye.

Technical specifications: adidas X Speedflow

An upper made almost entirely from Primeknit, a stretchy, lightweight material that also provides a snug, comfortable fit that few other boots on the market can match. The shell features Agilitycage technology, consisting of internal cables designed to provide stability in the most demanding situations, such as turns at top speed, sprints and sudden stops. In the sole, we find the CARBITEX SPEEDFRAME, which efficiently transfers power through the revolutionary and dynamic carbon fibre plate in the lightweight SpeedFrame construction.

Lionel Messi has new football boots to conquer France, Europe and the world. We don’t know if he’ll succeed, but if he does, he’ll do so with this exclusive adidas X Speedflow edition for Lionel Messi, now available on the Fútbol Emotion website.
