This isn’t the first time adidas has teamed up with Marvel to bring us trainers or even football boots. In the past, we’ve already seen a launch with another Marvel franchise; on that occasion, the theme was ‘The Avengers’. Who doesn’t remember the adidas Nemeziz Spider-Man football boots?
In an absolutely fascinating combination that perfectly blends two of the things I love most in the world—boots and comics—these incredible adidas X-Men football boots are living proof of the excellent relationship between the German brand and Marvel, the film studio behind everything related to this franchise.
adidas Predator Freak+ Wolverine football boots
The adidas Predator Freak+ boots from the Marvel Pack are inspired by one of the most iconic characters in the world of Marvel superheroes. With their bold design and construction, these incredible football boots scream ‘Wolverine’ from every pore.
This time, we see how this same bold, natural design in the new generation of Predator is split between the yellow on the upper front section and the black that covers the entire rear of the heel. The German brand’s three traditional side panels and the ‘DemonSkin’ rubber spikes are a greyer shade, a clear reference to the material used in Wolverine’s claws, ‘adamantium’, which is what gives them their strength and all their bite. Nature in its purest form.
Also worth noting are the Wolverine logos, which feature on both the sides and the heels of these football boots, lending them a much more fictional feel. In terms of technology, we are looking at the same features that were introduced when the Predator Freak+ boot was originally launched. However, more than ever, the ‘DemonSkin’ technology takes on vital importance and, at the same time, carries significant weight due to the character chosen for the decorative theme of these adidas football boots.
adidas X Ghosted+ Cyclops football boots
As this is a set of boots comprising just two of the four models produced by the German brand, it could not be more in keeping with the second boot chosen for this collection, nor with the character selected as the design theme. Cyclops (Scott Summers) is another fictional character who appears in the Marvel Comics series, X-Men. He is not only one of the team’s leaders, but also one of the founding members of the X-Men.
For this Marvel Pack, adidas has opted for a colour scheme on these adidas X Ghosted boots featuring shades of blue, red and yellow, which appear in various places on the boots. A colour scheme that reflects the colours used in Cyclops’ uniform, and where we can also see how the colour of this Marvel character’s defining feature/weapon – in this case, the red beam that shoots from his eyes – takes centre stage once again on the corporate stripes found on the front of these adidas X boots.
To complete the Marvel-themed design of these X Ghosted+ trainers, we’ve also included Cyclops logos on both the outer side and the back of the boots, which also feature a sole with a special iridescent finish.
