A little over one month ago, Paul Pogba one of the French football stars, signed with Adidas. However we had not received any type of notification from the German brand making the Juventus player signing official. Now we know why! When you get one of the best young football players in the world to sign with you, you cannot just make an announcement on social media, you have got to go big and that is why Adidas has decided to make it official by giving him an exclusive model of its most innovative football boot, the adidas ACE 16+ PURECONTROL, which he will wear for the first time in the UEFA Champions League match where Juventus will face Bayern Munich.
Prior to getting into detail about this exclusive boot model created for Pogba, we are going to do a small recap of his boot historical record, because I assure you it is quite special.
At 23 years old he has already become a recognized football star by fans all over the world, however all the brands cannot wait for a player to become a worldwide football icon so they can sign him, this has to occur starting at a very young age. For those who know a little about Paul Pogba (following him on social media is enough) you probably know he is a quite different guy, compared to those that do not follow his style. This is not the most comfortable situation for a brand, now you will see why.
At the photo above you can see Pogba, a Nike player back in the day, he practiced and even played matches with his Nike boots, but then change them during halftime for another boot model, one belonging to the competition! It was not any random model, but a remake of the adidas accelerator which were launched by the German brand in 2014. I do not think the bosses of the American brand were very happy about it.
Few months after that Pogba received several exclusive models of the Magista Obra however due to an unknown reason, Nike never promoted it unlike with other players such as Cristiano Ronaldo o Neymar Jr.
However at the end of last year we started to see him on training sessions and matches wearing a very special blackout model (for those who do not know, if a player is wearing a blacked out pair of boots is because he is negotiating his sponsorship contract), we are talking about the adidas Ace 16+ Purecontrol football boots, that he would keep using until he signed with adidas just one month ago.
But it has finally become official. Adidas is launching an exclusive model of the Ace 16+ Purecontrol for Paul Pogba. They take advantage of the away uniform colors worn by Juventus during this 2015-2016 season, using the color black as a base, where we can also find a snake´s skin-looking pattern on a dark gray tone, and using a golden color for the three adidas stripes, sole and several highlights.
Furthermore, Like any other exclusive set of boots, adidas has included some highlights on different parts. On the heel part of the left boot we can find the word “POGBOOM” and “POGBANCE” on the right one, which make a reference to the powerful shooting skills the player has got and also to his style of celebrating his goals by dancing. Finally the number 10 can be found on the boot´s tongue, a number used by the best players in the history of football.
A unique set of boots to celebrate the signing of a player that will most likely be the star player of adidas once Leo Messi steps back to adidas´second most important player. Congratulations to both sides of the deal!
