We all know that 2020 was supposed to be the year of the Euro, but in the end it couldn’t go ahead due to a pandemic that has affected the whole world and which we are still battling today. Naturally, with the major event scheduled for this summer, we were also expecting plenty of football boots and goalkeeper gloves, but, fortunately, all these products have made it onto the market. Although we won’t be able to enjoy this major tournament, the brands have decided to launch everything they had planned for Euro 2020. Today we’re going to take a look at the best of these launches together.
We’ll start with a brand that doesn’t usually attract as much attention as others, but which has launched a new range of laceless football boots. We’re talking about New Balance and its new Tekela V3s – football boots we’ll be seeing in the final stretch of the season and which many will want to try out, as they offer something different from others in terms of technology. They feature a laser-etched outsole and, inside the boot, a sort of sock-like lining that provides better support for the foot and greater stability. To find out all the details, you can read the article we’ve put together exclusively about these boots.
Secondly, we take a look at the new Nike collection, featuring all its models and all the Nike football boots we’ve been seeing over the last few years. A collection inspired by street football – the real football we’ve all played, and which has also been played by the great footballers who now compete in finals, and which many continue to play today. The collection features a fairly understated colour scheme, with a metallic grey and black and red detailing, as well as numbers representing the postcodes of certain cities and neighbourhoods, as the collection’s name suggests: the Neighbourhood Pack.
Of course, we also have a Puma pack, inspired by one of the releases from the previous European Championship, which Portugal won. On that occasion, we saw the players wearing Puma football boots in two different colours – one for the left boot and another for the right. In this case, Puma has chosen to bring back those colours, but with some modifications and, above all, by changing the boot’s design. We no longer have one boot in one colour and another in a different one, but rather two identical boots, each divided into two colours. The look is completed by a very aggressive outsole in a striking silver colour.
Finally, let’s talk about an adidas pack that has taken the world by storm and won everyone over. A pack that has delighted both professional players and fans alike, in which adidas presents all its models in a new colourway dedicated to the Euro, whilst also matching the design of the match ball that had already been launched. It features a white base with details in a range of vibrant, summery colours. The Uniforia Pack is, without a doubt, one of this summer’s standout collections for many, particularly because of its aesthetic, and we also believe that every adidas football boot has its own story and purpose with these new colours.
