Today we’d like to tell you about a new model of New Balance football boots – a boot that represents a huge step forward and a real revolution for the American brand, as New Balance is now also joining the trend for laceless football boots. Yes, we have another laceless model on the market, in line with current trends. These boots are made from a very lightweight and stretchy synthetic material, designed to offer lightness and freedom of movement when striking the ball.
Without a doubt, New Balance has always been one of the most innovative brands on the market, not only in the world of football, but also in sport in general. In fact, before making its mark in the world of football, it was already a leading brand in disciplines such as running and also in the world of fashion. Then came the moment when it decided to enter the world of football, sponsoring major teams such as Liverpool and Athletic Club de Bilbao. Furthermore, the brand has been producing football boots and goalkeeper gloves for years, carving out a niche for itself amongst the major brands and competing in the market alongside big names such as Nike, Puma and adidas. All this is thanks to its innovative, high-quality products, as well as its high-profile ambassadors, such as the Liverpool player who won the Champions League and was named African Player of the Year.
But let’s take a closer look at these football boots and their technologies. As you know, these are New Balance’s first laceless football boots, so many might have expected a product that didn’t quite measure up to models from other major brands, given that this is their first launch. However, that hasn’t been the case. The American brand has done a great job and has produced boots that are lightweight yet durable, designed to provide security and support for the foot. The upper is made from Knit, a lightweight and stretchy material. It is left exposed on the instep, whilst the rest of the upper is covered by a synthetic layer. Furthermore, on the outer side, alongside the grey New Balance details, there are multicoloured raised patterns that provide greater grip when making contact with the ball. This is a technology known as Kinetic Stitch. That’s all you need to know about the upper, its materials and its key technologies.
Moving on to the outsole, which remains unchanged from previous generations and retains the same design, featuring 11 conical studs that grip the pitch well and provide excellent stability and speed. What’s more, the outsole has a very distinctive look, as it is laser-engraved. That’s why we can see those coloured stripes: the outsole features different colours on the inside, whilst the outside is completely dyed blue. Then, through a laser-engraving process, part of the outer layer is removed, revealing all those colours.
And now we come to the standout feature of these boots. Inside, there is a sort of membrane – similar to an inner sock – which allows the boot to mould more closely to the foot. This ensures the foot is much more securely held in place and stable, providing a greater sense of security whilst playing.
