New Nike Mercurial

2022 is going to be a year full of new developments, and Nike is kicking things off with a restyling of Mercurial, its most iconic silo. Today we'll tell you all about the new features these football boots have to offer.

Nike has a flagship model that, over the years and generations, continues to garner praise from the world of football, and that is Mercurial. Some of the best players in the history of our sport have achieved great success with these boots, and currently, footballers such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Haaland and Mbappé are the main standard-bearers for Nike's speed silo.

Mercurial is not just a pair of football boots, it is a concept, a style, it is seeing football in a different way from everyone else and expressing that on the pitch. Nike has been doing a fantastic job for many years, combining a very good product with marketing campaigns that few other brands can match, and the result is that Mercurial continues to increase its sales year after year.

Today we are here to present the new Nike Mercurial football boots, which, without changing generations, feature a completely different design from their predecessors. And that is the only change, the design, as the construction of these Nike football boots is exactly the same as we had in the previous Recharge Pack.

Let's start with the most important thing: the colour. This isn't the first time we've seen Mercurial dyed this sky blue shade, a colour that undoubtedly suits Nike's speed silo perfectly. What's more, this time it's accompanied by orange for all the details, a mix of bright, eye-catching colours that perfectly match the essence of these football boots.

One of the main new features is the implementation of the Nike swoosh in 3D, making it more eye-catching than in previous designs and gaining in importance. In addition, Nike brings back the double swoosh on both the inside and outside, something we have seen before and which seems to be the new look the brand wants to give its logo. This second swoosh appears in a darker orange, almost red, making it even more eye-catching than the first one, which is located above it.

For the rest of the design of these new Nike Mercurial football boots, the American brand has used a slightly darker blue colour, highlighting the areas of the boot on which a Mercurial player should base their game. Both on the inside and outside, there are two large semicircles, which indicate which part of the boot we should use to pass the ball.

Just below the lacing, there is another marked area that crosses the boot from side to side and is shaped like an arrow. This is the part that should propel us forward when we sprint and help us reach our maximum speed as quickly as possible. Finally, just below, the brand has decided to place a crosshair, which, of course, indicates the area where we should aim for that perfect shot that will make us the hero of our team.

Moving on to the heel, we find another important part of this design, which is none other than the Mercurial logo. Nike has placed this logo on the outside of the heel, inside an orange circle that stands out against the minimalist design of the rest of the boot. On the outside of the heel, we find this same circle, but this time it contains the American brand's swoosh. This is the only aspect of the new Nike Mercurial football boot design that we are not convinced by, but there is no accounting for taste, and this is only a personal opinion.

Finishing up with the rest of these Nike football boots, we still have the Flyknit area on the upper and, in the case of Superfly, on the collar, ACC (All Conditions Control) technology throughout the shell, a pull tab on the heel, and exactly the same sole as on previous Mercurial boots, the Aerotrack 2. Something that the brand has told us is that they have incorporated a new element into the upper coating that should give us extra grip when in contact with the ball.

That's all there is to say about the new Nike Mercurial football boots, a new design for a model that has made football history. Starting today, you can purchase them both in stores and on the Fútbol Emotion website.
