Having already seen some details about this new generation of Nike’s most classic boot earlier this month, it is today – the day of its official launch – that we will finally be able to take a closer look at all the major new features that make these new Tiempo boots some of the lightest football boots on the market, and which are sure to delight all those traditional players looking for a modern boot.
New Nike Tiempo Legend 9 football boots
To understand this generational change, we need to go back in time to the summer of 2019 and look at the Nike Tiempo Legend 8 football boots, a pair that featured numerous technological improvements, such as the QuadFit mesh, but which, overall, were still considered quite similar to their predecessor.
These new Tiempo Legend 9 boots are regarded as one of Nike’s key products for the second half of the year, as they represent a significant step forward compared to the Tiempo 8. One of their key features is that they are considered to be among the lightest Tiempo boots ever made.
Technical features
When we talk about the weight of these new Tiempo boots, we quickly arrive at the main reason why Nike has launched this new boot with a completely redesigned upper and a significantly improved outsole compared to the previous version. In fact, when we look at this new generation of the Nike Tiempo 9, our first impression is that we are looking at the most classic Nike Tiempo Legend ever, all down to its construction and feel. However, we couldn’t be more wrong.
The upper continues to feature premium natural leather, a material that provides excellent ball feel and exceptional comfort. The ball feel has been further enhanced this time around thanks to the soft foam pods located on the toe box and on the inner side of both boots. This material offers grip and also makes it easier to control the ball whilst running.
A new circular element featuring the distinctive logo style of the new Tiempo range has been added to the heel area; this has been integrated into the new, more comfortable heel counter incorporated into these boots. The stud plate has also been redesigned with the aim of reducing the boot’s overall weight. The new plate features a very interesting stud system.
There are four rectangular studs in the heel area, whilst the forefoot features six conical studs, two rectangular studs and one triangular stud, which will be primarily responsible for providing above-average traction and stability on the pitch.
Although they don’t feature any particularly eye-catching design elements, these are among the most stylish classic boots to have come out in recent years. Don’t forget that these new boots are now available to buy on the Fútbol Emotion website.
