New Rinat Xtreme Guard Pro Goalkeeper gloves

Today we’re going to talk about one of the gloves most in demand by our customers on social media. A glove that will most likely arrive in Mexico to dethrone the current champion and become the new king. The Mexican brand’s new flagship model is taking centre stage and, as you’d expect, we’ve got our hands on a pair, as have the Fútbol Emotion stores. Below, we’ll take a look at both the technologies used and the inspiration behind the creation of this glove.

What the Mexican glove brand Rinat is doing is truly impressive. It simply deserves top marks for absolutely everything it does. Personally, it’s one of the brands we’ve fallen in love with, and they’ve been doing so for years. We must say that Rinat disappointed us a little a couple of years ago with the aesthetics of its Kancerbero model, but it won us over completely with the functionality of its Fenix Quantum, Egotiko and, above all, The Boss models. True works of art. All this demonstrates the Mexican brand’s expertise, as well as its extensive collection, with a new leader in its ranks.

The Absolute Guardian - Rinat Xtreme Guard Pro

Exactly two years ago, we saw the Rinat The Boss goalkeeper glove for the first time. Quite simply, we loved it. We also tried to make out, indirectly, the internal battle going on within brands to determine which is the true king of the collections. Something similar has happened again at Rinat with the launch of their new flagship glove, the Xtreme Guard Pro. An immediate similarity springs to mind with its sibling, the Fenix Quantum, and of course, The Boss.

We'll admit it, we love gloves with a seamless design – we are absolutely mad about them – and today, we are lucky enough to have a pair in our hands that will undoubtedly make it onto our list of the best gloves of 2020.

Of course, when we first saw it, we had our doubts; We are not saying we mistrusted the new Xtreme Guard—far from it—but we were unsure about the niche it would occupy in the market. In our view, the number 1 brand has The Boss as its flagship model, and given what’s happening in the current market—with seamless gloves all the rage—Rinat wants to make a bold statement by positioning this one as a step up from its sibling.

Rinat has added “weight” to the back of this glove in a key area compared to its counterpart, The Boss glove; specifically, by increasing the number of gel inserts on the back and shaping it into a Punching Zone, enhancing your punching ability and meeting the needs of the modern goalkeeper.

What would Rinat be without its Omega Grip palm? Without a doubt, and regardless of which model we choose from this specialist brand, its latex is a firm favourite amongst us goalkeeping enthusiasts. But on this occasion, we’ve discovered an innovative compound in its palm known as AXG (Aqua Xtreme Grip). A state-of-the-art formulation, developed in Germany specifically for Rinat goalkeeper gloves using the same technological principles as those found in aircraft tyres and Formula 1 cars, ensuring top-class performance in all weather conditions and delivering an exceptional balance between grip and durability. This translates into maximum safety on the pitch.

Featuring the Ergo-Roll cut, a combination of two designs: the ergonomic cut, which provides comfort and a perfect fit to the natural shape of the hand, and the legendary rollfinger cut, which offers a larger latex surface area on the fingers for better grip and contact with the ball. The combination of this hybrid cut results in a sensation similar to wearing a negative cut, as it applies pressure to the fingers, whilst also offering greater sensitivity on contact with the ball, as if it were a second skin.

One thing Rinat has kept unchanged in a nod to tradition is the wrist strap on The Boss glove: a classic, extra-wide elasticated fastening strap with Side Shield latex will protect the areas of the palm most prone to wear and tear. It also features an anatomical design that allows you to flex your hand naturally at the wrist, making it much easier to grip, whilst also acting as a functional support.

Our verdict on the new Rinat The Boss: It features a less snug fit, whilst still applying a little pressure to the fingers without compromising on comfort. This new glove from the number 1 brand makes it abundantly clear that the intention is to create a reinforced glove without the need for extra weight, so you’ll experience maximum feel when wearing it, as well as a sense of lightness and total flexibility. Let’s welcome the new king and, above all, get ready for a new generation of Rinat gloves.
