After watching many Fiorentina matches, we have noticed that their striker, Dusan Vlahovic, plays with socks that could be against FIGC regulations. The Serbian striker is not the only one who wears and uses socks in this way; on the contrary, many players, both in Serie A and abroad, take to the field wearing grip socks that serve as a base for the socks provided by the club.
It is a method that, in addition to being functional, has an aesthetic component that many players like very much and, in fact, has become fashionable in recent years. We are not saying that today we see most footballers wearing their socks this way, but it is true that more and more athletes are trying to play with an accessory that, on a functional level, offers a better grip with the football boot compared to the classic sock.
In today's post, however, we will focus on the case of Vlahovic, who never wears grip socks in the same colour as his Fiorentina socks. And is that really against the rules?
As you know, the rules must be respected, especially when it comes to colours. You all know that the thermal shirt must be the same colour as the match shirt, just as the tights must be the same colour as the shorts. What about grip socks?
There are no specific rules for this particular accessory, so what Vlahovic is doing cannot be considered irregular. It is true that we have always been told that at least the tape must be the same colour as the sock, but when it comes to grip socks, we do not know much more.
As before said, this is something that has emerged very recently; it is, therefore, a new trend that may have arrived suddenly, catching football regulations off guard.
