New features in the new La Liga ball

Puma has been supplying the official balls for the Spanish League for several years now. And this year, as always, we have a new ball, which we will analyse to see how it differs from last year's model. Let's get started.

The first thing that has changed about the La Liga ball is its appearance, with a design that is completely different from the previous generation.

Previously, we had a white or yellow ball with those ‘manga’ style designs which, although very striking, were not particularly special. The rest of the ball looked fine, but it didn't stand out too much. However, now with the new Z-shaped design of the patterns, we have a much more striking and vibrant ball, especially with the yellow and pink flashes that look great on it.

Visually, the incorporation of the feline logo on the new ball also stands out. It is much more striking than in the previous version, as it is larger and better positioned.

Furthermore, as with Puma football boots, the German brand implements the latest technologies in its new products. The construction of the ball has changed: previously, it had eight heat-sealed panels, but now it has twelve, further improving the spherical shape of the ball, which will give it better flight.

In terms of grip and feel with the ball, Puma has kept things simple, as the last ball worked well and therefore this is the only aspect where we have made no changes. We have repeated the same PU surface with 1.2 mm 3D texturing that we had in the previous generation, which gives us a splendid feel with the ball.

The air lock valve has also been retained, so that the ball does not deflate while we are playing, as well as the fast, touch-based style of ball that is so well suited to the Spanish league. A light layer of internal foam has been added, which you are sure to love when you strike the ball with great force, and which also gives a little more power to all your shots.

And that's it for the differences between these two top-of-the-range balls, but where we do see a huge step forward for the German brand, especially in terms of aesthetics. This is a ball we will see during many La Liga matches, and we can't wait to see the winter version. What will Puma bring us next? For now, we'll just have to wait and see.
